i hope this book is written from a laos person because i heard that earlier books were written mostly by thais and foriegners. so i hope the information in this book about our history is accurate.

I don't think history written by its own people can be accurate, it will always be biased.

I would love to read a history book on Laos written by a Laotian, but there aren't any. If you don't know who Grant Evans is.... well you need to educate yourself about Laos some more.

 do u mean educate my self more on grant evans<  or educate my self more on laos because the two are different one is a country and the outher is a person.

Dr. Grant Evans is a great writer and very knowledgeable in Lao history. There are also other writers like: Chritopher Kremmer, Martin Stuart-Fox, Mayoury and Pheuiphanh Ngaosyvathn, Vatthana Pholsena, and Dr. Bounsang Khamkeo to name a few.

thanks for the link!!!  i just downloaded it and only took me like 5 second to download the file..  extracting the file and scanning for virus took me another 1 min or so..    for those who said it not free or said they having hard time downloading it..  you probably dont know what you doing!!!
