the battery of SE Asia will start to look more & more like Finland - the country of lakes - as Laos continues to flood herself with more dams...one day it'll reach a point where there will just be a huge inland sea in between China, Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand ;P

       I want to see Laos has more hydro power plants, because our country doesn't have any thing else to do. ( except eco-tourist). Or you want just export human labor like philipine ( to send out workers all over the world to make money and send home to the family).
       Laos had advantage of natural resource and goegraphics to do something that another country can't do, Laos had few popurations, more space. We can use this to develope our country, Because we don't have basic foundation of technologies or any light or heavy industry like china, japan or korea.
       but we have to plan it well, our country now needed the most is nationwide railroad or four lanes highway, link from north to south and from east to west, so the rural area can transport their goods to any where in the country, that will creat a jobs for small village and town. we also need to build the reservoir for the rainy season to control the floods.
       the Rome didn't built in 1 day.

I feel humble after read your posting. I understand what do u mean. Wish Loas will have a bright future for young generations.
