Laos (TCL) open 3 G service ,but...the mobile data transfer rate is  only 114Kbps。i think TCL shoud improve the speed to welcome oversea customers during the seagames.

Lao is such a small population and still poor like this. You think is it worth to make the business of 3G here?

How many % of the population can efford to pay for the high cost of 3G?

It's hard man..it's hard!

No no, it is not that hard for Lao ppl.
Normally they also have Sony Ericson and Nokia... the price is up to 10,000 -20,000 baht, still they can afford that. HISO PPl in VTE change mobile phone every 6 months of one year......

hmm umm.. i dont know  much to say about this topic but all i can say is i think lao ppl in vientian will definatly like this idea because from my experience i know that the younger generation would love this. i had a friend who came from lao and thei kid had asked them to buy an iphone from the U.S. and send it back to lao so the demand is i thnk is pretty high and all kids wanted that.

but i do think it is also true that mos cannot afford but some how they do ???

i dont know. just my 2 cents

I think you guys are misled by the title of this subject.  As long as I've known, Laos had 3G services for awhile now.. (at least Tigo did)..  What that poster simply said is.. they have 3G iPhone available on that price..

Tell you the truth... There's no need for 3G.. you wonder how many people actually walking around with smart phones and surfing the net in Laos??  Especially, those new iPhone... majority of applications will not work in Laos anyways.. like, GPS(mapping) and can't be downloading any additional apps.  It is just a total waste of having iPhone in Laos, but it looks cool to be walking around with one.. hahahah I guess..
