If they have microchip implant, it will be easier to trace their pets. It costs only $40 and $75 register fee for year.

sadly, he's probably been trafficked to vietnam and eaten already.  this depresses me alot because this dog looks like such a sweetheart and i have a dog myself.

i don't understand how viets and chinese can find dogs to be so tasty.  dogs are always licking their own asses and eating their own vomit.

come to think of it, i used to have a viet neighbor and our old dog just went missing one day!

You must not be aware that you can easily get dog meat in the streets of Vientiane as well?

Having tried it, it doesn't taste much different from pork. And its delicious at that. It should be also noticed that much of the meat sold is farm raised dogs, fed mostly grain (which explains why it tastes so similar to pork). Dogs are kept as pets in Vietnam and China too. Infact, given the genetic variation of the different breeds in the area, it is theorized that domestic dogs originated from China.

Dogs are animals, and they are meat, no different from any other domesticated animal. The only reason why the western world didn't develop the culture of eating dogs is probably because they aren't very efficient producers of meat, as pigs are.

And I've never seen any of my own dogs lick their ass or eat vomit.

There are 10,000 new babies born every day in America, but 70,000 puppies born every day. Half or more have to be killed because there are just simply too many of them to take care. Between six and eight million dogs and cats enter animal shelters across the United States each year. Of these, approximately three to four million are euthanized.
Think about that for second, which is more cruel?

@ deathep:

i'm curious, is dog significantly more delicious than pork?  you said pork is a more efficient source of meat right?  so why not use that grain to feed the pigs instead of those scrawny dogs?confuse

first of all, you need to learn how to spell LAO correctly.  second, a cow's diet and digestive tract is alot different from a human's.  i have never eaten cow pile and never will, but those that do aren't hurting anyone are they?

here is a related topic:

"Kopi luwak (Indonesian [ˈkopi ˈlu.ak]), or civet coffee, is coffee made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and other related civets, then passed through its digestive tract.[1] A civet eats the berries for their fleshy pulp. In its stomach, proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, making shorter peptides and more free amino acids. Passing through a civet's intestines the beans are then defecated, keeping their shape. After gathering, thorough washing, sun drying, light roasting and brewing, these beans yield an aromatic coffee with much less bitterness, widely noted as the most expensive coffee in the world."

Because it is a part of their culture, and they had developed a taste for it. Or maybe its the only source of meat they had around at the time and they needed to eat. Even in countries that frequently eat dogs, it is not as common as pork, which is indeed a more efficient source of meat.

Here in Texas, you can find rabbit meat, but its expensive and doesn't really taste that great. Since it is still being sold, obviously people are eating it.

I never seem to hear of women eating dog, just men, and a rough kind of men too. Guys when they are feeling like a dog go eat dog.

If there are too many born in the US and they have to be killed that too is bad, but two wrongs don't make a right. In Thailand they don't "fix" dogs so there are too many, they sell them to the Vietnamese dog buyers instead.

Dogs love to eat human ****, that's one thing they are good for. I've seen them lapping up after the baby as if it were ice cream, yummy.

Hehe ! Yeah ! it also licking the children ass if not properly clean up Hahaha ! and have you noticed that those who eat dogs, anywhere they go, they would be followed but hord of angry dogs barking after them Haha ! In my young days, I also ate dog once or twice a month, my wife said " if you continue to eat the filthy meats (dogs), take your pillow and go to sleep elsewhere ! " and she was serious ! and she was right : I had a bad smell (smell of dogs) Hehe ! So, from that time, I stop eating this kind of meat, even wild animal meats, and now my doctor recommanded me to eat as less as possible beef as I have high blood pressure....it remind me my turbulent young days.
