President visits Attapeu to encourage poverty reduction
(KPL) Mr. Choummaly Sayasone, President of the Lao PDR, and his delegation visited the southern province of Attapeu on 11 August.
On this occasion, the President was briefed about the socio-economic development, especially the implementation of the 8th Party Congress�s resolution on the socio-economic development to address the poverty problem in the province from Mr. Khamphanh Phommathat, Party Secretary and Governor of Attapeu province. The President then talked with the provincial Party Committee, administration, local authorities and people about agricultural production during the rainy season.
The President also gave advice for building up Party membership and improving its organisation. He urged local cadres to actively work to improve the living conditions of multi-ethnic people in the province by completing its development targets and goals, encouraging the production for trade and developing the agricultural potential.
The President also praised the achievements of the local administration and people over the last few years, especially in the production of foodstuff.
