I don't understand why u blame everything on Vietnam occupation. I don't even know that Vietnam has occupied Laos.

It doesn't matter how tall the tallest building is . Skyline ranking is based on how many highrise buildings the cities have .

Vietnam to build second tallest tower in Asia, tallest in ASEAN

The PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC) is planning to build a 528-m tower, the second tallest building in Asia after the Buri Dubai Tower in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The project is estimated to cost 1.2 billion USD which will be contributed by PVC, its parent company the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN), the Ocean Group and the real estate developer SSG Group, PVC Chairman Trinh Xuan Thanh said.

The 102-storey PVN Tower will sit on an area of 25 hectares in Me Tri commune in Hanoi ’s outlying district of Tu Liem. It will feature trade centres, offices for lease and apartments.

Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in early 2011 and complete after 30-36 months./.

Why  should we care about the skyline ranking cities ? We should care about the well been of our people  and our kids such as good education, good medical care, good jobs and enough jobs with good pay , equal opportunity and good justice system one and for all that what Lao people want. Be happy and appreciate what we have  and be proud to be Lao.

Lao population is only 7 million. Laos don't need tall building, just need democracy first. Then skyline later. It'll take time and step by step.

Just 6.700.000 people Lao Isan, you, are right and I too, I just don't need those skyscrapers becos' I would never be working in one of them, neither my children, I'm not an ambitious man and my very urgent needs for me are : a decent home, a decent transportation facility, an access for good education for my children and grand children, acceptable healthcare and the last ones are good foods for the rest of my life...no, I 'd never had any conception of having those super skyscrapers in our tiny country with scattered people over a long territory in my mind, sorry, I didn't come from of sound stock ... so, sorry !
