I don't think it will be like you said. Laos is not North Korea or Iran. Laos is Laos.

Laos PDR is communist country but, the most Laos authorities are Buddhism as same as Thailand. Beside that Laos and Thailand have special relationship more than any country in SEA. Hopefully the governments on both sides would working together to free those 3 Thai tourists and send them back to their families as soon as possible.

It is highly possible that they are innocent tourists and I recommend that
Lao government should free them to maintain good relationship with Thailand

Yes I totally agreed with you Tobias there's 100% possibility that these three tourist might ened up at the wrong place at the wrong time. and I'm pretty sure they'll be release soon after investigated were complete. if they can released British-Negro heroin smugler from death penalty why not our closed relatives thais ? Please don't worry too much Tobias they will come home safe.

All they have to do that is very simple just put some large amount of dollars in the envelop for who ever in charge of this case then the case will be close and they will be free just like the Mixican police .
