Many monks enjoy swiming in Kuang Si water fall where a lot of foreigners, wearing bikini and swiming suit, also enjoy swiming in the same area. Do you think this will drive Lao monks to feel about ....? confused.gif

my friend from New Zealand was nearly raped by a novice in Luang Prabang two years ago. She befriended the novice and he acted as a tour guide but then persuaded her to let him visit her guesthouse room. She didn't know anything about monks or Buddhism or what was forbidden for them to do. In the room he tried to rape her. She managed to escape from the room and he also ran away. She did not tell the police because she was afraid they would believe the monk rather than believe a young Western girl. She may have been accused of doing bad things with a monk in order to get her money. Of course most monks are not bad like this, just as most Western girls are not prostitutes. But as two different cultures come together in the touristic neo-buddhist town of Luang Prabang, yes I think you will see some ku baa chai tek.
