This is Phou Bachieng in Pakse, Champasak province, Laos. Don't you think this mountain has very similar shape to Mt. Fuji, in Japan ?

Maybe Mt Fuji looks flash, but the story about Bajieng and Malong, that Phu Bajieng is named after, is one of the most beautiful and saddest stories I have ever heard. For that reason I don't think Mt Fuji is half as good as Mt Bajieng.

Yes, this is Phou Malong.  Phou Bajieng is a bit to the North, east of Ban PhonSikhay, across Sedone river.

Mt. Fuji's has it's beauty in it's own way...never read any story about Fuji, but I'm sure it has it's piece of history. As for Pa Chieng & Nang Malong...love the song, sang it a couple of times on Karaoke. Wish one day they'll be a movie made, ****, laos got lot of stories to be made. Go Laos! Go Nippon!
