This is the official logo to be used at the 25th SEA GAMES in Laos 2009.

Official logo of the 25 èmes Sets of Asia

The identifier for the governmental communication of the organization of the 25 èmes Jeux of Southeast Asia, which will be held in Democratic Republic Popular Lao in 2009, has been just officialized last week with Vientiane.

This tte officialization of the logo was the subject of one ceremony in which the civils servant concerned and the “sponsors took part”; the Deputy Prime Minister, permanent of the government and president of the organization of the plays, Mr. Somsavat Léngsavad, the president of the national committee of the sports lao, Mr. Phouthong Séng-Akhom, the vice-president of the national committee of the sports lao, Mr. Somphou Phongsa, the director of the Beerlao company and member of the national Olympic committee, Mr. Kissana Vongsay, and also chair it company Phetchampa (TV Cable) member of the committee Olympique main road, Mr. Khammoui Kèomani.

Three pictograms will represent the 25 èmes Jeux of Southeast Asia, which one starts to call “Vientiane Games”, three pictograms will have

They will symbolize also the country: That Luang, the elephant (mascot of the plays) and the graphics of the various sporting disciplines practised during these plays.

“The organization of these 25 èmes Plays of Southeast Asia east of capital importance for our country. The success of this one will contribute to reinforce the role of the Democratic Republic Popular Lao on the international scene, declared Mr. Somsavat Léngsavad.

The basic infrastructures for the course of the sports activities will be ready for the plays like all the other services concerned, like those of transport and tourism.”

At the time of the ceremony, the representative of the national committee of the sports signed an agreement with the three companies which support the organization of these plays: Beerlao, Phetchampa and RSBS (company inhabitant of Thailand). The agreement related to the communication, publicity, the use of the logo, the retransmissions audio-visual, the sale of the by-products, etc

“I thank the government lao for having chosen Phetchampa (TV Cable) for the retransmission of the opening and the play closure as well as the retransmission of the matches of football. Our company will use a budget of five million dollars for promotion and the diffusion of this event”, declared Mr. Khammouy Kèomani.

For the organization of the 25 èmes Plays of Southeast Asia in 2009, the government lao signed a contract with a Chinese company for the construction of an Olympic stage. The contract was signed in the form of concession over 30 years.

The stage currently in construction is built on a surface of 458 hectares. It is located close to the village of Dongsanghine (km16), in the district of Saythani.

I don't think this is a logo, but cut and paste photo of Thatluang stupa into a white background. Oh my buddha, don't tell me that this is the official one.
I still can see the edge of cuting trail on the photo.



Logo should make it simple, easy to understand and nice. A few lines to form something like Thatluang stupa is more than enough. If they use this one as the official, they will need to spend a lot of money to print, becuase it will consume a lot of inks to make million of posters pumphlets and billboard !!!
