(KPL) More than 60 countries from the five continents in the world are expected to attend the 23rd upcoming Ministerial Conference on Francophone Affairs which is secluded to be hosted by Laos in Vientiane from 20-21 November 2007.
The statement was released at the 3rd meeting of the National Preparing Committee held on 4 September in Vientiane under the chairmanship of Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Thongloun who is also Chairman of the National Committee for hosting the meeting has urged all people concern to pay their attention to make the meeting success. He also congratulated all organisation and people concern for their great participation in the preparation process made in the past and present time.
The meeting has heard report on the progress of the preparation of each assigned committees and plans to ensure the successful of the meeting. The Francophone Organisation now comprised with 55 permanent member countries and 13 observed countries. The Lao PDR has become the full member of francophone organisation since 1991. The International Francophone Organisation established on 20 June, 1970 by the government of 22 countries.
