Khaen as one of the official mascot for Seagames in Korat, Thailand

Thailand already used Khane (a symbol of Lao musical instrument)  as a symbol of 24th SEAGAMES in Korat Thailand.
Thay also used elephant as a mascot for SEAGAMES in Chiangmai many years ago.

The question is, will elephant and Khane represent the image of Laos in the future?

We have seen many things taken away and registered as Thailand'possessions. I think that concerned agencies like the ministry of information and coulture should do something about this, for instance, registration of cultural items and practices, etc.

ACT NOW or we'll have nothing left for our generation to enjoy and be proud of ?

share ur thoughts, Lao people.

regards,

Ethic Lao live in Khorat. Naturally they going to use the Khene. We are the same people.

I think we should use the Yuk with a huge Krabong. So that way he can smash the mouse holding the khene.

Why did you remove my post?
If you're so sympathetic with the Thais, then you should remove this topic altogether.
You are not being fair !!! Shame On You !!!

Who cares? Seriously, get on with your lives. Its a freaking wind pipe, every country on earth has some kind of wind pipe, so what? Elephants? You are claiming that elephants are Lao because there was once a kingdom called the land of a million elephants where present-day Laos is located? Seriously, ever heard of Africa? Why the hell do you people always have to try and be 'different' to the Thai? A blind retard can tell that the Lao and the Thai are identical in almost every social and cultural way. The only thing that makes you different and the only reason why you are not calling yourselves Thai today, like the rest of isaarn, is the French and then Vietnamese political system you are a part of. And since many of you don't actually like this political system, there doesn't seem to be any reason why you should not be a part of Thailand.

You need to wash and clean your eyes good after you woke up. I didn't talk and posted about elephant.

I am talking about Thais or Siam stole Phrakeo and kept in Wat Phrakeo in Bangkok many years ago.

You should allow another readers to give their opinions.

I know that nothing will change, and never in my dream that Phrakeo will return to Laos one day. It will not happen, I know that.

Just allow people to give their opinion.

I'm not telling u what to write, although I wish you would read something other than the lower secondary school Lao history. Phrakeo has had many owners, not just Lao and Thai. It was originally being sent from Sri Lanka to Pegu (Myanmar), but the ship got caught in a storm and eventually wrecked off the coast of Angkhor (Cambodia). It was then given to the Lao before the Thai took it after Anouvong's revolt against them. The Lao have no more ownership rights over the phrakeo than the Thai, Cambodians or Myanmar, or Sri Lanka. It doesn't matter whether you are talking about green Buddha statues, elephants or silly wind pipes, the fact remains, the Thai and the Lao are inseperable.

wow, there is one guy in this forum who really pro thai. I REALLY CARE about this so what's the matter with you hahahaha?

what part of thailand are u talking about? Your statement "A blind retard can tell that the Lao and the Thai are identical in almost every social and cultural way" is not fully right.

why dont you give reasons before "Anouvong's revolt against Thais/siam?

what a nonsense statement "..the fact remains, the Thai and the Lao are inseperable."

To the "Pro Thai" dude :

You have made it this far, went to study overseas, and started forgetting about Lao history or you just ignore it.... There is nothing wrong for you to side with Thailand, but DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT insult Lao school.

"LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL LAO HISTORY"  ???

I won't ask you where you get your primary education from.

And I rest my case here.

I

We do not claim about where the PraKeo is from because the original is not from Laos. However, PraKeo was given to Laos and it belong to Laos Kingdorm. But Thai never say that I took PraKeo from Laos. They said, Prakeo belong to them. So what does not it mean?

Thanks

If you are Laotiane in the world they will know that the history is never change like some country they like to change and change everything, because they do not want students learn about the history! thanks

This opinion definitely was expressed by Thai person who has learned Thai history which was changed 50 years ago. I am wondering why our people did not or do not protest the change. Like Chinese people always protest the hostory changed by Japanese about "Sweet women".

Now Thai people always think that Laos was always part of Thailand which is not true. That is why Lao people always hate Thai people.
