(KPL) An amphetamine gang consists of 19 people were arrested with a total of 37,600 amphetamine tablets have been hidden inside vagina, anus and shoes by the authorities of Savannakhet province in recent month.
The authorities of national defence of Savannakhet province was recently informed a news resource from a good citizen on transporting narcotic drug from Songkhone district to Kayphomvihane district of Savannakhet province. So the authorities have patrolled along southern No 13 road.
During the patrol, the authorities saw a suspected van license plate No 5692 in a considerable high speed so that the patrolled unit stopped the van to inspect. As a result of more than 30,000 amphetamine tablets with a worth of 20,840 baht hiding in the said mentioned above with 19 defendants, of whom eight women were found.
Throughout the investigation processing of police, the 19 defendants have confessed that they were employed to transport and trade amphetamines. This activity is severely against the law of Lao PDR and the authorities have recorded other information before sending this gang to the provincial authorities of drug suppression committee.
