THE Rattana Business Administration College (RBAC) held its annual Boy and Girl Modelling contest to celebrate the International New Year on the evening of December 28.
The finale of the fourth annual contest featured 20 models from the college, short-listed in the preliminary rounds held on December 25.
During the preliminary rounds held last week, over 40 boys and girls competed for a place amongst the 12 of each gender that were selected as winners, and qualified for the finals.
“Our college organises the contest every year to foster solidarity amongst our students while showcasing their talents,” said the college’s President, Mr Sompheth Rattanasim.
He said that the two main objectives of the annual contest were to celebrate the coming New Year, and welcome those new students who have joined the school for the new academic year.
After announcing the names of the winners, the event followed with traditional Lamvong dancing, and students and teachers partied until midnight.
One of students attending the event, Ms Pany Soutthavong, 21, said this year’s event was much funnier than in other years, with fewer shows.
She said that although this year was different in that it only featured a modelling contest without any of the singing and dancing competitions of past years, it was cool that there was more time to dance with friends.
