I will keep the money.....borrow a videocam.....go around the city and #inteview the monks at various temple (no one care to see it, but that what I want to do) #2 go to all clubs in VT and record all the girls there. (I will call it LAO GIRLS GONE WILD. Lao people will love to see that)

The I am going to upload that to YouTube.

I want to make documentary about tribal people in Laos and their way of life. Do you know that some tribes still put pregnant women in the jungle until they give birth before they can returnt to their own village? And in some tribes, before a woman gets married to her lover, she has to sleep with a head of the tribe first...

Would be interesting.

All the TV program above has already conducted in many Lao TV program. So, it is not unique and lack of originality.
The TV program that Laos has not yet had are listed below:
1) IT (IT zone, Technology, Website, etc...)
2) English language learning by young Lao people
3) Lao comedy
etc..

Yeah too many Music-food-travel programmes on Lao StarChannel. And Gosh, ain't those VJs annoying?

Lao comedy and English language learning would be refreshing to see on Lao TV.

How about a reality show? I like to watch Amazing Race, Survival, American Idol...We don't have to do something in that scales, though. Think globally, act locally. biggrinbiggrin

I'd make a political documentary about where all the development money goes after it is given to Laos - this documentary could also double as a real estate advertisement, or perhaps even a car add. But don't get me wrong, i'm not taking sides, I really want a white-brick mansion and a humvee too.

US$1000 ISN'T ENOUGH JUST TO BUY A MOVIE CAMERA, LET ALONE TRYING TO PRODUCE A DOCUMENTARY FILM. NOT ENOUGH.

I like this idea. Maybe you can feature those who wealthy and successful in Laos or Lao people who make a big wave overseas. Or foreigners who are doing so well in Laos. This is to motivate/stimulate other Lao people to be more active and to do something about thier lives.

Cheers

It still exists in Laos. I learnt this information from my colleagues working in the department of Information & Culture in Xiengkhouang. They recently visited some places in nothern provinces, and withnessed this traditional practice.

If you need more information, I can ask them more.
