This reply is out of topic. But the rice in the katib khao looked like it's half burned? or it's "brown color" sticky rice? I've let the cooking pot run dry(accidently),and burned it like that. And it's smelt bad and had to throw it away.
The good cooking sticky rice should look like this.
either stickyrice!!, tham mak houng!! laabb !!! but it makes me so madd how thai promoted thamak hoong as their traditional dish... -_- so many other original laos food too but some ppl had to promote it as their own....
In my actual experience a time I have a good chance, was invited from the authority where I'm living, to present about Laos. I weared clothes as a original farmer and with me I carried a TipKao with Kao Neow, Cheow and SiinHaeng as ready to go for routine work and explained to them also KaoNeow very impotant part for our religion and babalalaaaaa......
