Uhm that's nice. It must be better than muddy wet land, and rice fields. Don't you think so.

to built a place like this i wonder how many houses of local residence would be tearing down to make way of this new development?
but if the boss said OK then a local like me can't complain but just bow to his order and live with it for the rest of my life.
i am now 100 years old, i won't live long to see this town flourishing so just wish Lord Buddha bless this project to be like our friends promised, sa tou

Un-informed poster, I would like to tell you something.

People physically cannot live ontop of a marsh.

Get my drift? There are no cizitens living on the marsh LOL!

Its so ironic and funny how the people with good English are complimenting this project, but the thread I just posted in the ones with bad english are entirely hating on it.

Oh Khon Lao ery.

I would love to see it. This Chinese company essentially did what I wanted to do when I graduate college. Buy and develop land.

Oh nor khon Lao oiii,

They are there to develop it. Its a marsh, its all rice field, thats why the Chinese are there, to develop it.

I laughed at the situation, I don't understand the reason why you even pointed that out.

I think its funny, that in a context of "The Chinese are here to live on Lao land!" people freak out, but once someone shows a picture, theres nothing but praise. And no, I don't think its funny, or maybe I do, that people can come and read my posts and express their thoughts. I'd like them too.

But when it gets to the point of random posts saying "The chinese are here to eat Lao babies!" (from a similar thread), you know its gone the drain and you can't help but either laugh or get mad. I rather laugh than get mad.

this happened in Sudan as well. Just follow this link:

There are times, wandering round Khartoum, when you might almost imagine yourself to be in China.

Construction is going on everywhere, and a lot of the buildings have huge Chinese characters on them.

yea it is nice on drawing board... the question i have is..   where all those water run-off going now??  with the increase of population in the area... what's going to happen with the raw sewage??  they can't have a septic tanks that big to be able to handle the usage.  i hope that they dont just turn it around and dump all those to the marsh land.... where people fish and plant their rice.   eventually, the whole marsh land will become a toxic pond..    i've seen the documentary show on CNN regarding chinese toxic waste...  they never clean up their mess, just move on and build somewhere else...   i think there's more harm than good will come out of this project..   it is just my two cents worth of comments.

Your father is member of Politburo in Laos and making millions of dollars?
You must be a rich man to buy land and develop it.

You know the Chinese are their for the oil. Instead just buying the oil or they actually moving and trying to control or atleast have something to say in the goverment.

IN contrast the American let Saudi Arabia do whatever they want and sometime smack America in the face.

I think America should be more like Chinese. Go in there and control each country.

My father works on an assembly line in America. Same with my mother. I'm still a first year college student (I'm a year ahead, so I'm still in High School :p). Land is cheap in Laos, we're not talking about Japan here.

I wanted to create a company to develop land, roads, schools, and infrastructure in Laos. Specifically with LAO workers (any citizen of Laos), and foreign investments from Lao Nork. Thus, no need for 50,000 Chinese, no need for a 100 year lease to the Chinese, its all Lao produced. Its all talk, when it really comes down to it, how could the government ever allow this? My hopes are high, set agains the Lao stock exchange which was only in the news ONCE in the last few months.

You're now informed, I hope you don't have any other ignorant statements in the future. Ha! Politburo! If only I was one, I'd take them down from the inside out!
