My friend from Thailand went to the local Lao temple this weekend to celebrate with me.

They started to sing "Sawatdee Bi Mai"

He asked why they said Sawatdee? I really didn't know the answer. I asked him if he ever heard that song, he said no. This implied it is not a Thai origin song, or else he would have heard it before.

I told him I didn't know, it must be really old I think...

Why do they say Sawatdee?
