(KPL) Nongtha marsh will be developed as a new leisure complex and tourism site of Vientiane Capital to deal with the growth of tourism in the future.
Mr Phoykham Houngbounyouang, Head of Investment and Planning Division of Vientiane Capital who is in charge of this project released that the tourism development complex project at Nongtha marsh area in Chanthaboury district has been planned for years but now this project would become the truth soon.
This project worth US$70 million, invested by a local businessman who won the bid construction, which expect to take shape at the end of this year, followed the construction contract it will be over within 36 months, Mr Phoykham said. Now a local businessman is going to establish a joint state enterprise by seeking Vietnamese development partner as a joint venture.
This project will initiate with the construction of a new office for Chanthaboury district and the constructing company will compensate for 94 families who living near the construction site.
This project plans to build a three-model-hotel with nine-storey, Lao-style villa and accommodations for diplomatic corps around Nong Tha march on 74 ha. The Nong Tha area will develop as a public park and the marsh will improve as water tourism site which enable to serve tourists all year-round.
In the future, this area will be a small city and it will be a new face of Vientiane Capital.
