Lao KR,
You seems like a college student in Korea. Are you studying in North Korea?
How can you not know Laos PDR is not a democracy. Your National Assembly can't even create a law and the officials are not freely elected by the people either. A deomcracy have a check and balance system. Do you have that in Laos PDR? A special committee within your government a person to represent you. If you can't pick whom you want to represent you in the government then there is noting democratic about it.
I think there is no real democracy in this world, even in the United state or every parts of the world, there is what so-called censorship in different degree.
Hey Im replying to the guy that think Lao is a democratic country hahaha you dumb fuk Piece Of Sh*t. First of all, if you're going to reply to me and talk Sh*t, learn how to write in english please, it would save us a lot of time reading your chicken scratch. Second of all go educate yourself before you speak out. Just because the title of Laos is Lao People's Democratic Republic does not mean the country is a democratic country. Laos is one of the few countries left in the world that is still communist. I bet your ass dont even know what being democratic is, dont you? To answer your question, I am of Lao decent and I can read & write the damn language. So what you got to say about that? I bet you got brain wash by the communist and cant think outside of the box. Why dont you go back to your f*ken rice paddie and go suk your water buffalo's d*ck! Lan Xang I got much respect for you. You seem like a very intelligent man. Atleast there is someone that understands.
I want Laos to be free and to STOP the GENOCIDE OF inoccent Lao,hmong and other ethnic and find peace together and solution to better our country Laos!
Laos need a some sort of a new form government system not by following others communist but do it on there own terms.
thao hua ngu lanxang and thao hua ngu blood of a million elephant. sham on you guy, you are old enaugh xi khao pee pa xa leo why talk like dek noy por 2 the way you talk, it is that you talk to your grand kids and you teagh them like that use that word? shame on you. the sn not fit you at all you better change your sn. if you are real blood a million elephant you will not say like that /

thank for your opnion about the democracy in laos
but, i thoght i knew more than you about the democracy in lao . maybe you wrong on the point that, ours national assembly can't make law and the official not freely elected by people ! i want to confirm that there is democracy in lao ,what more all of the law was created by national assembly , neither government nor president the head of state can't creats or adopted law if the law not passed in the national assembly process, concluded that all of the law that we being used in lao made by national assembly ! did you got it ? for the officier, why you said not freely elected by people ? all of the deligation who set in assembly was choose from alot of candidat who applied for exam. in the batch of deligate, in vientain only we choosed 12 people among the 18 of applicant , got it ? do you know before the national election, lao law open to eveyone that the age over 18 years can go to elect there representative and 21 year have the right to be elect no whoever you are ,holding the lao nationality you can ! finally i agreed with you that A special committee within my government a person to represent me ! yes that's right . but i don't agree with you said that: If you can't pick whom you want to represent you in the government then there is noting democratic . about this ! is there that any kind of this matter happen in america the most elite democracy country ? i also saw that their people also choose the some of the candidate set in praliament right ? not one million people elected one million their own representative right ? what i said this i mean that all of the people their mine not comply with each other , that why if one people he like some one to sit in praliament , who about the other people don't they like the same ? is immpossible be like that ? absolutly no right , that why in lao we choose officers from alot of candidat people not mandated by goverment
In 2020 I would still like Laos to have some of what it already has today. Large old forests, some of the last forests of this type on the planet.
One place where Laos does shine brightly above all it's neighbors and above most other places of the world is it's amazingly diverse ecosystem. Much more valuable than a football team or a place at the olympics. Often people try to define riches by the way they see others. Such a shame to have such riches and not to even know it. The envy of the world and yet those who have these riches wish to throw them away so that they can fund the life style like rich Thai people they see on TV.
Every day. Twenty four hours a day the trucks leave. Many logs are so large they can only carry a few to a large tractor trailer. They wait lined up at the border to feed the appetite of the Vietnamese and Chinese and Thai factories. To sell ones daughter at such a cheap price is sinful.
I liked many of the other answers. Health care for all. A democratic government, and yes any worldy educated person knows full well there is no democracy,,, yet. An end to corruption. For all Laotians of all ethnicities to live together in peace no matter what happened thirty five years ago. Laotian is a nationality, Lao is an ethnicity.
Thank for your opnion about the democracy in Laos.
However, I thought that I know better than you do as regard to the democracy in Laos. Probably, you were wrong on the point that our national Assembly cannot make any laws and the members of parliament were not freely elected by people.
I want to confirm that there is democracy in Lao. What's more, all of the laws were made through national assembly , neither government, nor President can't create or adopted any laws by not passing them through the national assembly. In short, all laws that have being used in Lao, made by national assembly. You got it ?
For the MP, why you said they were not freely elected by people ? All MP working in Assembly were chosen from many candidates who applied for election. For example, in Vientaine alone MP were chosen 12 people from the 18 candidates? Hopefully, you understand me.
Do you know before the national election, according to Lao law, eveyone, whose the age is and over 18 years old can go to elect his favorite candidates. In addition, those whose ages are 21 years old have the right to be the candidates to be elected to National Assembly no matter whoever you are ,as long as you hold the lao nationality. Foreigners cannot, no doubt.
Finally I agreed with you that a special committee within my government a person to represent me. Yes that's right, but I don't agree with you to say that: "If you can't pick whom you want to represent you in the government then there is nothing to say about democratic".
About this, is there any kind of this matter happened in America ,the most elite democracy country ? I also saw that their people also chosen some of the candidates set in parliament right? Surely not one million people can elect one million their own representative right ? I mean that all of the people their own mind, but not comply with each other, that's why if one person likes someone to sit in praliament, but the other person doesn't like the same ? It is really impossible to be like that.
That's why in Lao we choose MP from lots of candidates, but not assigned by Lao goverment
wow ! translating english into english ...thanks TSP i understand better now ! for me, in 2020, i`d liked laos to be free of corruption, free of drugs, free of human trafficking, everyone can have an efficient healthcare without charge and have a free educational system for all lao people...with of course a good environment.
For me, in 2020, i`d like Laos to be free of corruption, free of drugs, free of human trafficking, everyone can have an efficient healthcare without charge and have a free educational system for all lao people...with of course a good environment.
I do appreciate your opinion. At least by 2020, Laos can get the things that you have suggested, Lao people would be happy, to say nothing of the other thing. Laos needs time to develop itself, including democracy.
thanks TSP for supporting my suggestion but i `d like to correct my words : free from corruption .....and thanks SEEHARHED for adding your opinions , i appriciated it.
I would like to see more things be built. Not only modern buildings, but parks, temples, buildings that reflect LAO architecture, not western ones. Phnom Penh is a great model, ever see their National Assembly building?! GORGEOUS!
I'd also like to see roads, roads, and more roads.
Poverty gone also, and last but not least, A STOCK MARKET!
It is impossible that Lao people can be only the Lao citizen. There are so many Lao who become Thai, French, European. Australian and othe country citizens.
