Thats inconclusive,

There was no data from the previous years (although it doesn't matter)

and 2008 is only half way through.

And remember, the number of crimes doesn't reflect prevalence, it reflects the amount of people willing to talk, and the amount of officers around to report.

it's a good new for Laos that we're not the worst
but I think the topic "Global Peace Index 2008, Laos ranking is better than Thailand "
it's not a good or a peaceful topic at all, this topic can cost the problem between Laos and Thailand, we're neigbour and we're not at the compitetion. Small word that we never care but some people really care about it

Wow! It's a good news. Laos is more peaceful than Cambodia and Thailand, not to mention Burma.

In my opinion, the fact that we have better peace index than our neighbours is because Lao people always love peace and Laos has never attacked other countries based on Lao history.

In addition, in Laos there is no race discremination either. Unlike in our west neighbour,we have the same colour of eyes.

I would hope Laos is higher than Thailand. Thailand have small war with it's own people in the south. Also many times the police just go kill the people.

Laos is less racist and I like that. There is still a problem, that's why Laos is only nmber 51. Why those Hmong rather die than come home to Laos?

what do you think if some post something like some country get something better than Laos, I mean we can tell everyone that which is good in our country but it's not good to compare.
it's very simple thing, if you have a girlfriend or boyfriend and she/he compare you to other people who better then you, I don't think you'll enjoy hearing that, even it's true
