Lao and french style building, Indian restaurant, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese restaurants is now everywhere. Vientiane is a place where East meets West and is that good?
I am interested, (maybe just curious), if anyone knows what kind of trees they planted along the sidewalk?
those trees aren't on sidewalk. i'm not sure what kind it is, but it is part of Lao Plaza landscape. this is Sarmsanthai Road and i don't think there's any trees plant along the street. nice picture, thanks for sharing!!
The roads are so small. Vientiane is growing and there are going to be a huge flux of Chinese people moving in. Shouldn't the city planners to a better job of planning on how the city is going to grow?
Bigger roads, large and tall and modern buildings will be built and included in the "new city" at Beung Thatluang which will be occupied mostly by the chinese.
It's called "China Town", and don't you called it a "new city" like the government. LPDR government try to hide it from the people by calling it a "new ciy".

Please cite me a reputable source where it said that Beung Thatluang will be occupied by mostly Chinese!
Like it or not, it'll be a Chinese "Special Zone". That's why they called "Chinatown". But Lao people can go in there to set up or open the business. Remember that if you have "ping Kai" or "Tum mak Houng" stall, it might not sell good
Please cite me a reputable source where it said the sky is blue.
You answer my question first and I shall reciprocate your question accordingly. Are you man enough to answer my question or you just another distractor trying to incite racial hatred within the Multi-Ethnic and Multi-Cultural Lao People?
