(KPL) Oil price in world marker has not been unstable and complicated exchange everyday leading to the oil price in many countries worldwide including Laos have sharply increased.
In this case the Government especially the central organisation of Laos has paid attention to oil price management.
Despite the distribution of fuel in Laos done by Laos Fuel State Company did not have any profits, the company will further serve public regularly, said last week Mr Khamchanh Rattanavong, Deputy Director of Laos Fuel State Company.
He continued that early this month the oil price trend has increased compared to late last month the crude oil price in the world market was US$163 per barrel but now it was down US$127 per barrel considering the oil price was still high. The surge in oil price was the strong dollar currency and taking advantage of profit from middlemen, the volume of oil production has not increased, and the imported oil from China and India.
The trend of oil consumption in Laos has surged which was noticeable in the figure of import oil in 2006 accounting for 452 million litres and in 2007 period increased about 535 million litres.
Buying diesel oil price has soared from US$ 0.75 per litre to US$1 late last year till today.
“The oil price was considerable high compared to late last year,” Mr Khamchanh, Deputy Director of Laos Fuel State Company. “Early this year the oil price has been adjusted to increase for seven times and decrease for one time”.
The adjustment of oil price has affected to the production and cost of living for people as well as oil entrepreneurs because each time of oil price adjustment has so far limited compare to the capital of oil price and other hands compare to the increased adjustment for many times is leading to inflation.
The Government has so far issued a measure to help oil entrepreneur and oil consumers by reducing valued-added tax, to control the oil price in the country.
He reiterated that however oil price was complicated considerably and the Lao State Fuel Company has no profits from oil distribution but the company would further distribute oil to help society.In case of higher oil price, it needs to use oil as economically as possible in the complicated situation and seek for substitute energy, he called on.
oil price is a real problem, but anyway, we all will have to learn to live with less and less oil, at higher and higher price... because oil ressources are not infinite!
So, don't try to find solutions to buy oil at lower price... but on the contrary, try to find solutions to use/need less and less oil!
That's the best thing everyone can do, and environment will also thank us.
less and less oil avalaible, and more and more people who are rich enough to buy a big car or travel by plane... for sure the problem will become worse and worse
