Sabaidy Luang Prabang film hits in Laos and Thailand
(KPL) Only seven days, the movie “Good Morning Luang Prabang” locally known as “Sabaidy Luang Prabang” makes a history of film screening in Laos by hauling over 300 million kip.
The film was shown at a cinema theatre of the Lao International Trade Exhibition Convention Center (ITECC), Vientiane Capital, from 5 to 11 June. The Lao PDR’ s big screen that had been produced historically which was a joint venture between Lao and Thai companies under the title “Sabaidee Luang Prabang” has made many millions of people in the two countries so much exciting and surprise when this film was released in both Laos and Thailand in June.
According to Mss Nok who is charge of Entertainment Administrative Work, ITECC told KPL news last week that the Sabaidy Luang Prabang film was ranked as the first one of the most popular films in June as it drew over 300 million kip of income within seven day. But we believed that its income to meet 400 million kip due to this film will be brought to release in southern provinces.
Meanwhile Mrs. Oulay Sirisackda, Manager of the Lao-American Enterprise who is an investor, she disclosed that our company is very pleased to meet big success with the produce of Good Morning Luang Prabang film and it is a part of efforts to develop the Lao film as the international one. For example Good Morning Luang Prabang film has been popularized among young in both Laos and Thailand. “The income is expected to reach over 400 million kip,” she said “This film magnetised about 500 audiences per one round at the ITECC’s cinema theatre. This film has been on screen for five times a day”.
She confirmed that the film “Sabaidy Luang Prabang” was ranked as second hit film in Thailand has been shown in 700 cinemas in Thailand. The film was invested around 20 million baht.
The stars of the film are Mr Ananda Everingham, a Lao-Australian, a Thai popular actor and Ms Khamly Philavong, a Lao actress heroic, the movie also represents a means of strengthening ties between Laos and Thailand. It also aimed to promote Lao culture and beautiful scenery and cities.
Over 90-minute film was showed in both Laos and Thailand on 5 June after showing on 2 4 May at the national cultural centre in Vientiane Capital.
