When will Khmer stop to copy Thai song?

This may not a big issue like the Preah Vihear, but i want to know if they get permission to copy the whole thai song and make it to Khmer style. And what Khmer and Lao people think about this issue?

I need somebody love (Khmer version)

I think to answer the question is infact we should reflect to Lao society back that the question: When will Lao people stop watching Thai TV, show off Thai TV in public areas, like bus stations, Talat Sao Shopping (Morning mall :D), using Thai cellphone and Thai alphabets, Thai this and Thai that in Lao soceity!
Thanks!

Just a thought! Copy Thai song in Khmer society is just a trend of globalization while in Laos soceity is the influence of a whole Thai culture in Laos society!,. let us think!

It's a very common practice in the music industry to allow songs to reach a bigger international audience. Record companies sell the rights to foreign companies for their own artistes to do their own foreign language versions of the same song. Plenty of Chinese versions of Japanese pop music in the market. Same happens for songs used in Hollywood movie soundtracks - Asian artistes will record their own versions using non-English lyrics for the Asia release of the same films. Happens a lot for Disney stuff e.g. Pocahontas theme song in Chinese.

Getting so worked up over who copied whom...a bit 'noi jai' right?

Man, I don't know what kind of post this is for Samakomlao? I think this kinds of post oughta be in a Khmer forum or blog some where that Khmers can commment on. This is Khmer's issue. Lately, Samkomlao is flood with topics that belong to the Khmer people. I think whoever posted should understand what is Samakomlao stand for, it's Lao issue.

This song sound more like chinese to me ...and many of Thai song are from Chinese anyway....

I don't think Khmer using Thai music ...it more like CHinese to Thai then to Cambodia .....most of the Thai song are not original ...except for luktoong ....

And i agreed with the above that this topic shouldn't be post elsewhere ....this is samakomlao ...and this is not relate to samakomlao at all....

Peace out!!
