I have a few comments about this movie:

1. Lao actress speak Lao not naturally at all ! It seems that she just tried to remember the long scripts, but forgot to put the feeling into it. The best performer is the little girl, actress younger sister, who speak Lao very cute and very natural.

2. when Lao people speak in the movie, There is a thai script to help thai people to understand. But when Thai people speak, no Lao translation ? it is not fair at all !

3. The plot of the story is so plain, and predictable. Watch this film until the end, and i don't quite get the connection of the movie. The name of the Story is Sabaidee Luang Prabang, but the scene in Luang Prabang is less than 5 minutes. So what is the point?

Do you have any other comments?

dohI just ordered the CD 2 days ago with the intention to support our own people, but the shipment will be coming from Thailand 7-15 days for normal delivery and 5 days for expedite delivery. In a reference to your profound displeasure of our language being edited, I wholeheartedly agree with you.  But we have to live with reality for now.  It’s not uncommon for Thai to treat Laotian as a second class citizen; therefore, our language wouldn’t be treated any different.  Due to strong ignorance among Thai citizens and their incessant relegation of our people, they have never bothered to understand Laotian even though the similarity of these two languages is so great.  If we are effortlessly able to comprehend their verbal speech since birth, you would assume they are not that stupid to understand us unless it takes a brain of rocket scientist to figure out what Lao people are speaking. Lao/Thai to me, it’s just like American English and British English.  It’s our fault for lacking too far behind; sadly, they are way ahead of us in every field.  Would Laos be Thailand today 30 years from now? I really don’t know because I have not seen Laos since 1994 and my overall knowledge of Laos is so limited. With current GDP of merely $13 billion, I have to chew this reality for a long time.  We can all claim our patriotism, nationalism, chauvinism, but it won’t change anything. We should be able to discern our own weakness, recognizing the flaw and try to find the solution. We need to think big and aim high. If we have a good dinner tonight does not mean we are to wait until tomorrow to worry about what to eat again for dinner. That would be a perfect example of stagnation. Our Lao people can’t be lazy; we need to work harder and one day, we will reach our goal.

I thought Lao people have their own country ...how and when did they become second class citizens? and also not only you will say this to Thai ..soon and even today many of lao living abroad do not fully understand their own language....many people watch this movie will need translation especially those that born and grew up abroad....

enjoy the movie ...peace out ...king of brucelao

I agree with you on No. 1. She talks with mono tone and no feeling expression - so unatural.
