LAO, Sept 4 (KPL) - Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports has pledged to help Laos improve the National Football Stadium, tennis courts and indoor sports stadiums in Vientiane in preparation for the 25th SEA Games in 2009.
The Thai Ministry will spend about 21.3 billion kip (THB 84 million) on upgrading the sports facilities in Vientiane and another sum of 1.5 billion kip (THB 6 million) for training referees, athletes and officials of the Lao National Sports Committee (LNSC).
The LNSC held a press conference in Vientiane on Monday to announce the cooperation efforts between the two countries. The event was attended by LNSC President Dr Phouthong Seng-akhom, Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports Mr Weerasak Kowsurat, and senior officials of both sides.
“The ministry is ready to assist Laos with its preparation for the games,” said Mr Weerasak. “The sporting collaboration would help strengthen the relations between Laos and Thailand.”
Dr Phouthong said, “The committee extended its thanks to the Thai government for its generous assistance.”
After the upgrade the football stadium will be able to take more than 10,000 audiences. It will be used for holding men’s football qualify rounds.(KPL)

there is no such thing as a free lunch. some might be good but most of thai like to blame down on people. if you see thai dramma, you will see they took lao isan, mynmar, combodia as a joker all the time. it shows that in their mind is look down on people all the time. sorry that i will say i never like thai people, they like to talk on people back in bad way. those things are their nation character.

I never agianst thai people, you can find bad or good people in the around the world, as far as i know, thailand helped us to upgrade the Wattay international Airport in 2003, Thailand Loaned Laos in a low interest for the railway construction (Vientiane-Bangkok) and thai government has agreed to invest 1,400 billion baht in the construction of 3rd bridge, 780 metres long and 7 metres wide (thakek-nakhonpanom) and there are many projects in laos that supporting by thailand. as for seagame 2009 , thailand grant worth $90 million baht or around US$2.6 million to Laos. It will be used for the 25th Southeast Asian Games slated for 13th to 21st December 2009
The money will be spent on repair works, training of officials, delegates and volunteers
Thailand government will also assist by providing coaches and referees as Laos prepares for the games

We've have been friendly to Cambodians since we took their land. We never betray them. In 1973 or 1974, Cambodiain was refugeed in south of Laos. We never repartriated them. We gave them a free land to settle. What happend to our brother in Thailand while we were desperately asking to save our live including children, men and women. They turned around killing us and sent many Laotians back home for Pathet(Viet. Communist ) to murder or exercute.
