(KPL) – Laos’ exports are expected to record one billion USD in 2008 revenues as the country earned more than 6 trillion kips (roughly 700 million USD) over the past 8 months.
This year’s 8-month figure, which accounted for 71 percent of the whole year’s target, is 2.7 percent higher than projected, according to a recent report released by the Lao government. The report also shows that the mining sector accounted for more than half of Laos’ export earnings, an increase of 37 percent over the same period of last year. http://www.kpl.net.la/english/news/edn13.htm
