Laos jungle survivor leaves intensive care
Permalink

A Queensland man who survived 11 days lost in a jungle in Laos, is still unable to move his hands or feet but is out of intensive care in the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

Hayden Ad****, 40, returned to Australia late last week after spending more than a month in a Bangkok hospital.

His father, Stan Ad****, who lives at Yandina on the Sunshine Coast hinterland, says he is hopeful his son may no longer need major skin grafts on his legs.

"The Australian hospital is treating it differently to the Bangkok hospital," he said.

"They are trying not to give skin grafts and they won't know whether that's successful for a few days, but early reports suggest that their treatment is working and perhaps he won't have to undergo skin grafts."
