Another impressive success by the People’s Republic of China which people would call it “A Dragon Flying High” I remember reading an article from somewhere awhile back how some Western experts scornfully said the Chinese Communist’s flirtation with capitalism would disastrously fail like the Soviet Union, but I guess they realized that they were wrong. This is a watershed for their endeavor in space and that they have laid a foundation to become a major space power. Moreover, the Chinese has long been fixated on the elements of hard power, particularly on assessing how they stack up against other powers in economic and military terms. With one man will be conducting a spacewalk for the first time and the other two will remain inside their orbiter modules. Though the Chinese comes late in the game given that the US and Russia had sent their men into space years ago, but the gap will be closing in due time.
I have no doubt that the Chinese communist would one day like to see US out of the Pacific Ocean. Their desire to have a blue-water-naval capability will soon be realized approximately by 2025. The aggressive buildings of destroyers, frigates, other surface-battle ships, conventional-attack submarines and the nuclear-power-attack submarine have manifested itself in the effort. Another example is the attempt to build a nuclear-power carrier and probably two other conventional carriers. I strongly believe that the competition in the 21st century will be between U.S and China. India, on the other hand will be just a second-rank power like the Soviet Union once was in the 20th century.
