Lao Airlines buys a plane again !!!

(KPL) The Aircraft International Rental Company of France transferred ownership of a ATR 72 aircraft to Lao Airlines on 13 November. The same aircraft was leased to Lao Airlines nine years ago and it has been in service for this period in Laos.

A hand-over ceremony was held at the Lao Plaza hotel to commemorate this event in Vientiane Capital last Thursday. The important people who were at this ceremony were Mr Mr Sithong Thongkeo, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Mrs Viengthong Siphandone, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance, Mr Yakua Lopangkao, Director General of Department of Lao Civil Aviation, Dr Somphone Douangdara, President of the Lao Airlines and Mr Meusieur Serge Dominique, Senior Vice President of Leasing and Assessment of France.

This aircraft has flown 28,600 hours for the last nine years and so it can still fly for another 41,400 hours as its total permissible total flight hours is 70,000 hours.

Dr Somphone Douangdara, President of the Lao Airlines said that so far the this company had paid the 96 cash instalments and an additional US$1.1 million to the French aircraft leasing company for the plane and that makes this Lao airline the sole owner of the plane.

He also said that six planes are being used by Lao Airlines, the French-made ATR and Chinese-manufactured MA 60 planes. These planes are well suited to the terrain in Laos, which has many mountains.

However, Lao Airlines is aiming to buy the Boeing and Airbus planes for long distance flights and it is accumulating money for such a purpose, Dr Somphone said at this ceremony.

Why are you so defensive??  Did someone killed your dog? Woke up on the wrong side of bed?  There's nothing wrong for Laos buying another plane.  He or She just post the information for others to read.

Nothing wrong if Laos wants to buy more ATR 72 airplanes in the future because the airplanes are suitable for Lao air transportation, inexpensive and very economical and safety.

Why don't you the research yourself?  Instead of waiting for someone feeding you the info.

Since you're so lazy to do so.  I went ahead and research it for you.  To answer your question, ATR 72 plane can hold 68 passengers and maximum up to 74 passengers.  Happy now??

Good plane, at a good price.  This means that average Lao can air travel to visite friends and families.  Lao family are scatter all over Laos.  I just realized today, i have relative living in Muang Komaun and we're from in Pakse.

I Google Muang Komaun, Savanaketh yesturday.  Its very pretty place.  Laos have so many beautiful place, that has not been seen and discovered or developed.

What i realized yesturday as i Google earth the country of Laos.  Laos is a very big country for the size of the population.  Laos is the same size as England, but with the population of one city like 5.6 million

(KPL) The state-run enterprise Lao Airline has an ambition to buy Boeing and Airbus planes with 150 seats to support the future growth in the tourism industry.

Many challenges in the competing market have forced the Lao Airline to acquire new modern planes to attract customers to be loyal to the services of the Lao Airline. At the same time Lao Airline disclosed yesterday that it has not yet had any plan to buy Boeing and Airbus planes but confirmed to buy two more new French-made ATR planes in 2010.

Boeing and Airbus are one of planes that have most modern and luxurious in the world therefore it is common that we will have high ambition to buy them for serving in both foreign and domestic countries.

But we have many conditions as we no have readiness to buy them due to expensive oil price and less financial source, said Mr Somsamai Visounnalath, Deputy General Director of Lao Airline.

He said that if we decided to buy them in current condition we might faced on unexpected problems such as high oil-hiking price, fluctuation of currency, inflation and the lack of human resources.

All were mentioned above as obstacles would be considered carefully. He explained that now Lao Airline has not only faced on planes modernization and luxuriousness but also faced the lack of human resources in particularly pilot.
