I visitted Lao last summer. Most impress me is Lao people is honest and charming even in the business area. Not like thai people, cheating is their main goals I will return to Lao next Dec 2009 and fully support SEA GAME.
He/she might not be Lao. We can't assume that the person is Lao. He/she might be white. Even if he/she is Lao, there's nothing wrong with telling the truth. I was in the military and we went to Phuket and those tuk tuk drivers and taxi tried to cheat us all the time. Took us the long way, driving around the block couple times. Tried to short change us because we were drunk.
