Four hundred sixty million kip to keep Vientiane clean

(KPL) As some of the trucks that carry earth, stones and sand are overloaded and so they spill some of their contents on the road. Roadside stall holders, vehicle repair shop proprietors and Vientiane residents are also responsible for throwing their unwanted rubbish throughout Vientiane Capital.

How can this city overcome the littering problem? Vientiane Urban Development Administration Authority’s answer to this is to convene a meeting to brainstorm and it was held at the Vientiane Administration Office on 11 December.

This meeting was chaired by the Vice Major of Vientiane, Mr. Bounchan Sinthavong. Six district chiefs and representatives of interested bodies were also present.

They focused on how to fine tune the proposal for the Clean Vientiane Project, with emphasis on the achievement of a clean and sanitized environment for the residents.

Another area that they dealt with is how to mobilize the Vientiane people to be involved in the campaign to make her clean, lightening, green, secure, charming and civilized.

Though this campaign is already in its second year but up to date the problem of random throwing of rubbish persists.

In order to overcome this impasse, the participants of this meeting proposed the setting up of five checkpoints to check on trucks and other measures to catch litter bugs.

It is estimated that the Clean Vientiane Project needs 460 million kip per month to maintain the cleanliness of its public parks and to pay for the cleanliness campaigns and it will cover: Chanthaburi, Sikhottabong, Sisattanak, Saysettha, Hadsayfong, Nasaythong and Saythany.

Do we know where we can go to to beg for money? Just in case we don't have any sympathetic donors. We can always play the helpless victim card. Just tell the world we are the most bombed country in the world and then sit back to watch more suckers beating down our door to give us their money. It works every time and we should keep doing it.

It's an easy job!

People, who create the rubbish, have to pay for that amount of money.
People, who throw unwanted rubbish, have to be fined $100 or get in jail for one month/one times. This will help Lao people act like developped people very fast.

Lao people don't pay tax because they don't have money to pay it with. The business pay tax.

This picture tell us the reason why our Vietnamese friend want to come live in Laos.
So in the near future will our country look like this, so many people , so many traffic congestion?
What shall we do to prevent such mess not to happen in our country?

Mr. Anonymous(Professor),

Four hundred million kips or four hundred million kip. Business pays or businesses pay. Pay tax or taxes.  Check it out or check out.  Vientiane is singular or plural What about clean?  Name of person. Is it proper noun or common noun? Should I capitalize letter I, sir? This picture tell. One picture. Do you think I need to add letter "S" to action verb tell. Plan for a clean traffic. So many traffic in Vientiane, you care only one. One times. Do you need to add letter "S" to world times?  Please don't choose only me to pick on. Thank you!
