Manager Thailand: The perception survey study of how Lao people think about Thai by Asia education institute of Chulalonkhon University, Thailand, revealed the results that Lao people believe that Thai people look down on them the most in the world, eventhough the two countries has a very similarity in Language and cultures. Lao consider Vietnamese and Japanese are more friendly compare to Thai.

ผู้จัดการออนไลน์ - เผยงานวิจัยสำรวจความคิดเห็นคนลาวที่มีต่อคนไทย ยันไทยเป็นมิตรที่ดี แต่ยังดูถูกคนลาวมากกว่าประเทศใดในโลก โดยเฉพาะดาราและสื่อมวลชน ลาวชี้เวียตนามเป็นมิตรที่ใกล้ชิดที่สุด ขนาดญี่ปุ่น ลาวยังมองเป็นมิตรมากกว่าไทย ระบุเพราะภาษาใกล้เคียงกัน ทำให้คนลาวเข้าใจคำพูดที่คนไทยว่ากระทบใจคนลาวเสมอ ทูตไทยในลาวชี้เพราะความสัมพันธ์ของไทยกับลาวมักจะอย ู่ในระดับสูงกับต่ำกว่าเสมอ ลาวจึงมีความอ่อนไหวกับประเด็นดังกล่าวมาก

วานนี้ (9) สถาบันเอเชียศึกษา จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย จัดสัมมนาวิชาการเรื่องผลงานวิจัย “ความสัมพันธ์ไทย-ลาว ในสายตาคนลาว” ซึ่งเป็นการศึกษาจำนวนและระดับความรู้สึก (perception study) ของคนลาวที่มีต่อไทย โดย เขียน ธีระวิทย์ อดิศร เสมแย้ม และทานตะวัน มโนรมย์ ซึ่งแบ่งกลุ่มสำรวจความคิดเห็นชาวลาวออกเป็น 4 ประเภท ได้แก่ ผู้นำระดับชาติ ผู้นำ 5 แขวง นักศึกษาลาวในไทย และประชากรลาวที่ข้ามด่านมาฝั่งไทย 4 จุด รวมทั้งสิ้น 216 คน พบว่า

คนลาวร้อยละ 61 เห็นว่าไทยเคยทำสิ่งที่แสดงว่าเป็นมิตรที่ดีต่อลาว ซึ่งความเป็นมิตรของไทยที่เข้าตาชาวลาวมากที่สุด แสดงออกผ่านการช่วยเหลือด้านการศึกษา วิชาการ แต่เกินกว่าครึ่งก็เห็นว่าไทยเคยทำสิ่งซึ่งเป็นปรปัก ษ์ต่อลาว แต่เมื่อถามในภาพรวมแล้วคิดว่าไทยเป็นมิตรหรือศัตรูข องลาว ประชากรทุกกลุ่มก็เห็นพ้องต้องกันว่า ไทยยังเป็นมิตรมากกว่าศัตรู

โดยกลุ่มคนไทยที่คนลาวคิดว่ามีท่าทีเป็นมิตรที่สุดคื อ นักวิชาการและปัญญาชนไทย ส่วนกลุ่มคนไทยที่ลาวเห็นว่าอยู่คนละขั้วมากที่สุดคื อ สื่อมวลชน ถึงร้อยละ 49

สำหรับการให้ความช่วยเหลือพึ่งพาอาศัยกัน คนลาวเห็นว่าไทยให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านทุนการศึกษา อบรมและดูงานมากที่สุด โดยเกินกว่าครึ่งมองการช่วยเหลือของไทยในแง่ดีว่าเพื ่อเป็นการผูกมิตร และยกฐานะความเป็นอยู่ของลาวให้อยู่ดีกินดีมากขึ้น

ส่วนภาพรวมในเรื่องของการค้าระหว่างสองประเทศ คนลาวส่วนมากยังเชื่อมั่นว่าจะทำให้ความสัมพันธ์ดีขึ ้น และร้อยละ 77 อยากให้นักธุรกิจไทยไปลงทุนในลาวเพิ่มขึ้น



ยกไทยดูถูกลาวมากที่สุด

ด้านการสำรวจเรื่องทัศนคติการดูถูกคนจนโดยเปรียบเทีย บกับชาติอื่นๆ ความคิดเห็นของชาวลาว ปรากฏว่า เห็นว่าไทยว่าเป็นประเทศที่ชอบดูถูกลาวมากที่สุด โดยการตอบแบบสอบถาม ตัวอย่างที่เป็นผู้นำระดับชาติ ผู้นำแขวง และนักศึกษาลาวในไทย เลี่ยงการตอบคำถามข้อนี้

สำหรับคำถามว่า คนไทยกลุ่มใดที่ผู้ตอบรู้สึกว่าแสดงพฤติกรรมดูถูกลาว ปรากฏว่า คนลาวเห็นว่ากลุ่มของนักร้องดาราโทรทัศน์สูงที่สุดถึ งร้อยละ 40 ตามมาด้วยสื่อมวลชนร้อยละ 27 โดยคนลาวร้อยละ 51 เชื่อว่านักร้องสาวไทยชื่อดังอย่าง นิโคล เทริโอ เคยพูดดูถูกลาวจริง

“การที่ลาวคิดว่าไทยชอบดูถูก สาเหตุหนึ่งอาจเป็นเพราะคนลาวมีความใกล้ชิดกับไทยเรื ่องภาษา สามารถฟังภาษาไทยออก เมื่อยิ่งฟังออกก็ยิ่งรู้ว่าไทยพูดถึงลาวอย่างไร ในขณะที่อาจจะฟังคนเวียดนามหรือชาติอื่นพูดไม่เข้าใจ ” นายอดิศรกล่าวเพิ่มเติม

ส่วนคำถามเรื่องความจริงใจของฝ่ายไทยต่อลาวเมื่อเทีย บกับประเทศที่ใกล้ชิดลาวประเทศอื่นๆ คนลาวจัดอันดับความจริงใจของไทยให้เป็นอันดับ 3 รองเวียดนาม และญี่ปุ่น และเป็นที่น่าสังเกตุว่า ในสายตาของกลุ่มผู้นำประเทศลาวจำนวน 39 คนไม่มีใครเห็นว่าไทยมีความจริงใจที่สุดเลยแม้แต่คนเ ดียว

“ความผูกพันใกล้ชิดของไทยกับลาวก็ยังเป็นรองประเทศเว ียดนามอยู่มาก เพราะคนลาวลงความเห็นว่าเวียดนามเป็นมิตรอันดับหนึ่ง ของลาวถึงร้อยละ 44 ลาวมีความใกล้ชิดกับเวียดนามมากว่า เพราะเวียดนามให้ความช่วยเหลือลาวในหลายด้านมากกว่า ทั้งสาธารณูปโภคต่างๆ เช่น สร้างถนน เป็นต้น” นายอดิศร เสมแย้ม หนึ่งในกลุ่มผู้ทำวิจัยเปิดเผย



รายงานยังระบุว่า แม้แต่นักศึกษาลาวในไทยก็ยังเห็นว่ากัมพูชายังมีความ จริงใจต่อลาวมากกว่าไทย

ชี้ไทยคุกคามความมั่นคงลาวน้อยลง

ด้านความคิดเห็นเรื่องบทบาทด้านความมั่นคงของประเทศท ี่ไทยมีต่อลาว ปรากฏว่ากลุ่มผู้นำระดับชาติคิดว่าไทยคุกคามความมั่น คงของลาวสูงร้อยละ 77 ลดลงจากอดีตที่สูงถึงร้อยละ 97 แต่ก็ยังแสดงให้เห็นถึงความหวาดระแวงที่ระดับบริหารข องลาวมีต่อประเทศไทย

ในขณะที่ภาพรวมปัจจุบัน คนลาวหวาดระแวงเรื่องการคุกคามน้อยลงจากเดิมร้อยละ 70 เหลือเพียงร้อยละ 35

อย่างไรก็ดี จากความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างไทยกับลาวในเรื่องต่างๆนั้น คนลาวจำนวนมากยังเชื่อว่ามีทางจะปรับปรุงให้ดีขึ้นแล ะเป็นเรื่องที่ทั้งสองฝ่ายต้องหันหน้าเข้าหากัน และยังอยากให้รัฐบาลไทยปฏิบัติต่อลาวให้เท่าเทียมกัน ในทุกโอกาส



วิเคราะห์สัมพันธ์ไทย-ลาว
นายสุขุมพันธ์ บริพัตร อดีตรัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงต่างประเทศ กล่าวว่า การวิจัยเรื่องความรู้สึกทัศนคติของชาวลาวเป็นสิ่งดี สำคัญต่อความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ การติดต่อสัมพันธ์กับประเทศลาวควรมีความรอบคอบระมัดร ะวังอย่างมาก เพราะปัจจุบันลาวก็ได้มีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับประเทศอื่นๆเพ ิ่มขึ้น เพราะได้เข้าร่วมในกลุ่มอาเซียนแล้ว ความสัมพันธ์ย่อมขยายไปหลายๆ ควรจะศึกษาว่าลาวมีความคิดอย่างไร แล้วไทยจะร่วมมือด้วยได้อย่างไร

“ผลการวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นอุทาหรณ์ให้กับรัฐบาลไทยทุกย ุคทุกสมัยได้ ให้ระมัดระวังรอบคอบ ต้องให้เกียรติแก่ประเทศเพื่อนบ้านประเทศนี้ให้มาก อย่างนิ่งนอนใจ เพราะลำพงการพูดจาด้วยภาษาเดียวกันได้ ลาวคล้ายกับอยากร่วมมือแต่ก็มีความหวาดระแวง และที่น่ากังวลก็คือความคิดเชิงลบในกลุ่มผู้นำต่อควา มมั่นคงของประเทศ มีเพียงส่วนน้อยที่เชื่อว่าไทยเป็นมิตรช่วยเหลือ” นายสุขุมพันธ์กล่าวและยังเสนออีกว่า ไทยควรกระชับการลงทุนกับลาวให้มั่นคงแน่นแฟ้นขึ้น ส่งเสริมประชาชนให้มีความใกล้ชิดผูกพันกัน และร่วมมือกันระดับภูมิภาค


นายสุขุมพันธ์ กล่าวอีกว่า ปัญหาระหว่างคามสัมพันธ์ไทย-ลาว อยู่ที่โครงสร้างทีแตกต่างกันในหลายด้าน อันเป็นบ่อเกิดของทัศนคติต่อคนไทย 4 ปัญหาคือ

1. ความแตกต่างระดับการเมืองการปกครอง
2.ที่ตั้งที่อยู่ใกล้ชิดกัน ลาวจึงมีโอกาสรับข้อมูลข่าวสารจากไทยโดยง่าย รวมไปถึงโอกาสที่จะได้ยินเสียงวิพากษ์วิจารณ์เชิงลบ 3.ปัญหาบริเวณชายแดน การลักลอบหลบหนีเข้าเมือง
3. ที่ประเทศไทยมีขนาดใหญ่กว่ามาก GDP เฉลี่ยสูงกว่า 100 เท่า รายได้เฉลี่ยต่อหัวก็มากกว่า 7 เท่า ทำให้บางครั้งเมื่อไทยขยับทำการอะไร จึงไม่ทันรู้ตัวว่าไปเกิดผลกระทบต่อเพื่อนบ้าน
4.ความแตกต่างในการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจ เมื่อเราก้าวไปข้างหน้า การพัฒนาย่อมต้องใช้วัตถุดิบ จึงอาจจะต้องพึ่งพาทรัพยากรจากประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน และบางครั้งก็ยากที่จะควบคุมเอกชนให้ดำเนินการอย่างย ุติธรรม ไม่เอารัดเอาเปรียบ


ด้านนายสุวิทย์ สิมะสกุล เอกอัครราชฑูตไทยประจำสาธารณรัฐประชาธิไตยประชนชนลาว กล่าวว่า ผลการวิจัยเป็นการยืนยันจินตภาพของไทยและลาวว่ามีอยู ่จริง ไทยมักจะตายเพราะข่าว แต่ลาวตายเพราะเกียรติ เพราะความสัมพันธ์ของไทยกับลาวมักจะอยู่ในระดับสูงกั บต่ำกว่าเสมอ ลาวจึงมีความอ่อนไหวกับประเด็นดังกล่าวมาก.

that is a bit sad, considering Laos and Thailand are practically neighbors. I just believe that more can be achieved when everyone tries to help each other than putting each other down. It is a small world, after all.

it's halarious that when a buffalo farts, stupid monkeys run to smell, then talk about does it stink or not, then start arguing about it.

don't try and convince someone it's not.

people are people, and they have opinions. opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one. depending on who you ask, they will tell you if it stinks or not. so, why bother talking about smelly buttholes like people's opinion about each other. it really in the end doesn't matter.

Thai people dont want to let Isan people to lead the country of Siam(thailand), because Isan is 30% of thai population. So they keep teaching thier generation by generation to look down Isan people. That leads to make thier mind to look down to us..................

Laos and Thailand is imediated neighbor country the outcome of lookingdown the neighbors countries, you can see what is happen in Thaisociety now, the land of smile will turn in to the Land of divisive in 4 Parths. they took every thing from us, destroyed our capital Vientiane, took Lao people to dig and build the Khong Sene Seb in BKK. Thai people look down us, we also did not believe them.

It is not something new about the Bangc0ck people looking down upon us Laotians.  Every citizen in the world would normally admire and aprreciate our grace and honesty.  It is in our nature because we are humble people and meekness is our virtue, but Bangc0ck citizens stigmatize all of these as stupidity.  They said Laotians are dirty, dumb and easy to take advantage of. Their incessant degradation of our people, our way of life has overtly proven countless times probably since our existence by calling themselves a superior race and condescendingly implying their class when talking to us Laotian people.

I can never forget how they mistreated people in the refugee camps from taunting, mockery, derogatory comments to constant harassment.  Even a married woman holding her child would be harassed by them sexually.  Many of my Laotian people had shared with me their ordeals including those whom were picked up by Thai Navy along the Mekong River and Vietnamese refugees got the worse treatment due to a language bearer. Thai, in general speaking, are the “evil” and the lowest of the “low” and I refuse to speak their language until today. I’d rather speak my Laotian. I won’t even sex their women for God sake anyway.

sabaidee krap khon lao, I'm a thai guy and my fiance is sao lao.  I can tell you that I am the luckiest man in the world!  She is intelligent, educated, and beautiful in every sense of the word! I tried to go to vientiane every two weeks to see her and her lovely parents.  She's the best thing that's ever happened to me.  I just want to let khone lao know that not everyone in thailand (krungtep) has an ill feeling or even hatred in their hearts.  Article/survery doesn't mean a damn thing! in every country/society there's always a very small/minute number of people of whom are probably uneducated and are ignorance about other countries.

It's sad and ironic because thailand is supposed to be a great country, but look at what's happening internally...we have problems internally but yet we have the odesity to put others down...it's embarassing! as a thai citizen!...I have to praise khone Lao...you have such a great country, great hearts, no problems...you guys look at life in such a positive way no matter what people say! very warm and kind and open heart people. 
even though it's been a rough road, i still hope that there's a chance of that one we'll live in harmony! happy new year krap tuk tuk khone!

love thai and laos forever krap!

that's the way they'd been tough in their high society for many years and even now.  Many of us watch thai dramma (la-korn-thai), they used  urgly Issan people act dum, talk Lao and only act as a maid or some one that serve their master.

I think, the confliict they are having right now is their own created.  just like people say, what goes round comes around.

there are ppl in the industrialized nations that have those disadvantages.

when a country treats some of its citizens discriminately and impartially and
that attitude is carelessly apply to its neighboring nations, ppl will rightfully fight back negatively. confuse

laos has the right to demand satisfaction. dammit!

Sayasetha The Great once was a king of Lanna and Lan Xang simultaneously, we are family for so long .Lanxang+Lanna eat sticky rice while Siamese not.All the Northern Thai people can speak 80-90% similar to Lao accent and vocabulary (surely! so far from Bangkokians).I don't know if the outst Thai PM,Mr. Taksin makes 'khaoniaw' overtop 'khaojao' or not but this made him harshly offended by Bangkokians and South Thais(who prefer 'khaojao').

      我很同意，有的泰国人小看我们。。。可恶泰国人（他妈的）我是老挝人，在中国读书时，也遇到这样的情况。泰国人很做作，小看老挝人，他们以为自己聪明，自己了不起，太可恶了。以前我很喜欢听泰国歌，喜欢看泰国电视剧，用泰国的产品。。。现在都恶心了。都不想了我很后悔自己，但是我不是怪全部的泰国人，也有的人也挺好的。在中国有很多泰国人他们也向人家学习的不是他们自己创造。很多东西也是从国外进泰国的，不是泰国人了不起，我发现这种情况真的有。

so far Thai leader concered aboy issaan will be independent very soon, therefore every time time when took up the office they alway and should pay the first official foreign visit to Laos becoz they represpect Lao People too much and siad that please do not encourage and do not interference with the Thai Internal affaires, it meanes Lao people play the big role in Thailand. hahahaha ... wait and see

don't look down at thai product, i am sure 200% your chinese-thai dictionary has made in Thailand.. because there s no good chinese-Lao or Lao -chinese dictionary in Laos...

I really tired with this stupid issue and also with this kind of topic!!!

Guys...

Look at yourself.. Tell me the true that in your life you never ever feel look down on other people? Don't you ever think even once that you also look down on some of Lao people which low class than you?

If you have daughter and you are in the middle class but will you let your daughter marry with a handsome man who have no or low of educated and from poor family? Ofcoz not! Right? Come on..Don't be silly!!

That's human being!!!

I think many of Lao peoples still stuck and immersed themself into the wolrd of absent-minded b'cos some of our neighbor using the words "Lao" = Rural, unwise,  low education or Non-Fashionable etc...

I would like to ask all of you guys that "Is it true in what they've said?"

Guys.. Stop being in such an idiot behaviour like this ok?

People are differents..

I believed that still many Thai people still like Laos people. Just small group of people using that words to look down on people.

I believed that even some Japanese or Vietnamese also look down on us but we don't understand their language as much as Thai which our both languages are quite similar (But most of Thai don't understand our language so far but it's good haha...)

Anyway.. remembered? We was under Thailand's colonial over 100s years and ofcoz they might think that Lao is on Lower than them but actually on the world mab we are situated above of them (right? hehe...)

For me.. I don't think serious things into my head. You hate them and so what? You guys still watching their TV chanels, reading Thai fashion magazins, Importation of MADE inThailand, receiving of their subvention, Education supporting etc.. whatever..

This is my last time will reply to this kind of stupid topic. Is it fun or satisfy for you just to write  to scolding them by these charactors?

Don't just say and scold people on the web board but please DO IT!

Do it...to show them that we are not a rural people (even though, we are) we are not stupid and we are not low in education. Just give us a time to prove it.. Ok
