President Choummaly Sayasone expressed his appreciation to Mayor of Moscow Yury Mikhailovich Luzhkov and said he believed the mayor's visit to Vientiane would help to strengthen the solidarity and long lasting cooperation between Laos and the Federation of Russia.

The President was speaking at the Presidential Palace in Vientiane , where he met Mr Luzhkov on Saturday.
The President said the visit was also an opportunity for investors from Vientiane and Moscow to meet and discuss business cooperation.
During his one-day visit to Laos, Mr Lushkov and his delegation also met with Mayor of Vientiane Sombath Yialiher to review cooperation projects the two cities agreed upon in 2004 and discuss future cooperation efforts.
The two parties discussed various future projects, including the construction of a “Moscow Hotel” in Vientiane as part of the 450th anniversary in 2010 of Vientia ne being named the capital of Laos .
The construction of a “ Moscow Road ” in Vientiane has also been proposed, along with the renovation of the Lao National Circus and the establishment of a Russian Language and Cultural Centre at the National University of Laos (NUOL) in Vientiane .
Mr Lushkov and his delegation also visited students who had graduated from universities in Russia , as well as Russian students currently studying at NUOL.
The visit is part of cooperation efforts between the two capital cities which aim to promote trade, investment and socio-economic development.
it is good new, The relations between Laos and Russia will be resumed and two countries wil come more and more closer , stay sisde by side as in the past as Russian people did , given and extended a greates asistance to Lao people during war for independence in against the two main agressors namely :American and French whic dominated Lao in some decades . Lao will be very pround in having a great supper power friend as Russia which has the nuclear weapons,member of the P5 ( Secuirty Council of the United Nations ).In Laos , they are more than 10.000 people can speak Russian language and they always welcome back the Russian in Laos and now the relations between two countries is based on state to state relations and not based on the ideology as before, we respect each other and non-interference in domestic affaires of each state, mutual benifit , good cooperation and prosperity for two countries, peace ans stability in the region and in the world.
Example of Moscow hotel in Moscow... It would be nice if Laos has this kind of european style in the capital Can they mix with the Lao style roof, it would be great
