If you are lazy, and just post a link, without any explaination or photos to elaborate the news, nobody will reply your topic. Spend a little bit more time to the topic you post, add questions or photos, or copy and paste the news here, so that the reader can read and have a prompt reply.

There is a same group of people (an old lady, her infant son, a really tall girl and nice looking too, and a little boy) going up and down the open air restaurants along the Mekong shore in front of Wat Chanh. They would beg for food and money. If you look like a foreigners or farangs, they will beg you for money. They usually nob you and mumble something you will not understand. I've seen Koreans and farang refuse to give them money. They would change 1-2 people around but they are the same group. Often walking to gether and the older one would direct the young one to whom to beg.
They would do this almost everyday. These people are lazy. Do not give them anything.

$1 = 8,500 Kip.

Most of the time people just have a 5,000 Kip bill on them. They would end up giving this to the beggars. That is almost a $1. Majority of people would work hard to make $100 a month. These beggars can probably make half of that easily.

Begging is bad for tourism. I would not like to have  beggars bothering me as I am sitting down eating food and enjoying my Beer Lao in the shore of Mekong.

The shop owners should stop them from coming in the restaurant to bother the customers. The police should arrest them.

Giving stuff away will only encourage more. These people are not cripple, blind, or have some sort handicap. They are smart and physically mobile. They are smart enough to corner unsuspecting farangs and foreigners.

DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY.

This is one of the most important issue that I try to talk about with the
Lao nok .  We are lucky that we are abroad such as United State, France ,
England, Canada, Australia or where ever we are living that have the freedom
and the opportunity. Now, have a look at those kids, they don't have a
change even to start elementary school. They have to beg for a living instead
of being in school. A lot more like them all over Laos , they need clothes, school
,vaccine and ...etc... So that is not their false to be a beggars .

No it is not their fault. It is their parents faults. Maybe it is the fault of the Laos government. It is after all a socialist state. I thought government take care of the people.

The sidewalk by Joma Coffee is so good that a lady just sits there permanently. I figure she must be paying the shop and the police. Down by the Mekong they roam. Before this year I never spent much time in Vientiane itself, but still I think they are on the rise.

If you like to see children begging by all means give them money, then there will be many other children begging. I certainly don't blame the govt, or society, Laos seems to have fewer beggars than most places, I blame us the tourists, it's not by chance that beggars congregate where we are.

Lucky laonok, you guys enjoy eating the KFC or pizza ok!!! Laos has a few beggars compared to country, if you have been to china, you would see there are many many of beggars in the big town such as Guangzhou, shenzhen and capital beijing!! I am sure 100% to tell you that the picture below, the kiddo, a mother, they are not beggars like you guys say, they are a normal that just back from the market and taking a rest over there, look at their face, they are so happy, nothing to be upset about their life?

if they are really beggars ,i think it is a short -term. as you guys know that, the flood hit laos in 2008, many people ,especially the farmers in the remote area faced the problem, the rice were damaged by the flood, so they just come to the city and need some rice or money to buy the food.

I think don't blame anyone, the government has no money even to build the country, to build the road, or to build the stadim to hold the seagames, the government is an international beggar eighter. as long as the government has much money, the average lao people have good income, the Laos GDP increase ,and Laos is not on the worlds poorest country, the gov will start to consider how to solve this problem.

I just want to blame" international org " they don't help laos properly to sovlve this problem,  I blame " NGO., UN, ...." Whom don't truly help laos to sovle this, why not?
because if they help laos to sovlve this problem, the NGO, The UN officer won't have a job in laos anymore, because those people love this beautiful country, thats why they want to go work oftenly or parmenently . fucck UN stuff

Please don’t blame your wife if you have a problem with erectile dysfunction.  It won’t do you any good if you think she is the cause but seeking treatment would be my only best advice; preferably a young sexy female doctor

Nut....totally nut....you told me that those kids are happy I look at them they are hungry and need clothes and school . Of course ,China and the bigger countries will have more beggars. And you told me that Lao government is broke and have no money to take care of those kids that I agree with you but the communist families are be able to buy very expensive cars and paid with cash and living in luxury house and able to send their kids to school over sea. So I think that the communist system every body must be equal and the same opportunity for every body as the book say. What I saw , the families are in the communist party have more opportunity and have better living . And only their families and friends have the permit to associated to do the business with the foreign companies who are so rich and have every things , allow the foreign companies lease the farm land  from 50  years and up to farm that are the good farm land from the local farmer...etc ...And you told me  that Lao government is broke , of course but the communist party they are not, they have millions in the Swiss bank or foreign bank. To compare those kids to their kids is just heaven and hell.

Tell the Lao people use the condom so they don't get pregnant and don't have too many children that they could not take care . May be the Lao government should provide every body condom.
