4 Lao girls from the world heritage city of Luang prabang make a debut with their song on the top of Lao music chart for 4 weeks in a row. The name of the song is Khon Aaw Tae Jai and it is now a big hit in Laos.
I totally agree with the comment above. Thai people may laugh at us while listen to these songs. They may think that Lao is actually a minority of Thai, and will soon be a part of Thai.
thai song use (pha sa lao) alot too why can't khon lao use (pha sa thai) mix with lao song i am sure they already know different beween lao and thai words maybe they just want to use it i don't see any thing big deal at all! who wrote this song i am pretty sure he or her is got a good education too
Both languages came from the same root, Pali and Sansakrit. Tons of Lao words can be heard in Thai songs, Thai movies and Thai dramas but the Thais never give a damn. Why some Lao are so serious?
PS. esp. these pop songs are listen by lao young generation der, you as music culture represent may ruin the use of lao langauge dai.
B'cos... It's not our Lao Song Writer but It's Thai or Thai-Esan Song Writers that wrote these songs for Lao Music companies. That's why the song above when these girls singing in Thai accent instead of Lao accent for pop songs
But what to do!!!... We can't stop Thai fever among new Lao generation. Same as Thai new generation also follow Japan or Korea trends.
