I don't understand Lao, but if the meaning of the song is really what you wrote, it's not just "too much".. it's absolutly inapropriate.

That's all that this girl expect from a guy? being rich, have lot of money an show it to everyone with a luxury car and expensive ring? Anything else is not important in the decision of marrying him, and if he doesn't have enough money to offer her all those useless things (the ring and the luxury car.... the house and a simple car are very usefull), she would not consider marry him?

Issan dialect itself has several sub dialects but in all every Issan dialects they don't use "ja" as "will" like central Thai they use "si" instead. So I'm very surprise when I heard Lao say "ja" as "will" for the first time.

and Issan use "méu" for "day" right? but central Thai use "wan" (from tawan = sun) one of the reason because I guess Thai use "deuan"(moon) for "month". but for Lao Sun is "TaWen" but nowadays you will hear a lot of Lao songs or even Lao language use the word "Wan" instead of "méu" wish is sound more Thai to me. Why not "Wen" (TaWen)?

If "Wan" is a Thai loan word in Lao language then just say it, accept it, don't always say that Lao language is older or original than Thai. It's not thing to be a shame of to have loan words in your language. but denying the fact is something to be a shame of.

What you fail to understand is that all those words you mention aren't just Thai or Lao, they are deriven from Pali and Sanskrit, which are the ancient languages back when Buddha was around.
Also remember that Thai is like a more developed version of Lao. The Lao people haven't had a new dictionary made for over like what...30 years? Their language has failed to progress too because of the oppression to the people.
Now Lao is finally slowly developing and they listen to Thai TV all the time and it rubs off on them. Thailand is also their close neighbor and the closest to Lao culture and Lao language.
Personally, I don't see any problem with some words being mixed with Thai and Lao. The languages are very similar.

No. You are the one who fail to understand that all those words I mention aren't deriven from Pali and Sanskrit at all. OK someone might says that "Wan" is deriven from Pali yes but the "Wan" that is deriven from Pali "VANA" means "forest" not "day".

Yes I don't see any problem with some words being mixed with Thai and Lao. The languages are very similar. Just accept it. Don't deny it just because Lao hates Thai.

Personally, I think Isan people is more of a Lao they have more Laoness than Lao in Laos today in term of language. because when they live at home, hometown they speak Isan dialect and when they live anywhere else they switch to central Thai dialect that's why they can preserve Isan language better than Lao in Laos today.
