Korea gives USD 3.5 million to build children?s hospital
(KPL) Korean Oganisation for International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) granted USD 3.5 million to Lao government to build the Laos-Korea Children?s Hospital at Ban Phonesavang, Chanthabouly district, Vientiane Capital.
Construction of this two-storey building will commence from October 2009 and it is scheduled for completion in a year?s time.
The hospital will provide treatment for children from one month to 15 years old. When the hospital is operational the Republic of Korea will send specialists to provide their expertise.
The grant aid document were signed by Deputy Minister of Health, Prof Dr Akesavang Vongvichith and Country Representative of KOICA to Laos, Mr. Chong Youn Ki.
Minister of Health, Ponemake Dalaloy and ambassador of Korea to Laos, Mr. Park Jae-Hyun were also at this event, in Vientiane Capitol on 14 May.
