It seems that they want her to be raped, so that they can write more bad news about Laos. But the true is the true, and now they all accept it. Read this >>
LONDON (AP) - A pregnant British woman detained in a Laotian jail on drugs charges was not raped while in custody, her mother said Tuesday.
Jane Orobator said her daughter Samantha told her that she had not been sexually assaulted while in prison and that the father of her unborn child was not a Laotian prison official.
But Jane Orobator did not reveal the identity of the father in the brief statement or even say whether she knew who it was. She said only that her daughter «is looking well.
Britain's Foreign Office, which released the statement on her behalf, declined to offer any further comment.
Samantha Orobator has been held in a Laotian jail since Aug. 6, when she was accused of trying to smuggle 1.5 pounds (0.7 kilograms) of heroin in her luggage.
She become pregnant while in custody, spurring speculation that she had been raped by a prison guard. Her plight attracted attention in Britain, where it was initially feared that she could be executed by a firing squad if found guilty.
Smuggling more than 1.1 pounds (0.5 kilograms) of cocaine is a capital offense in Laos, but officials there have since said Orobator would not be executed because she is pregnant.
A deal struck between British and Laotian officials earlier this month could allow Orobator, if convicted, to serve any jail sentence in Britain, but Laotian officials could still veto her return.
The Foreign Office said Jane Orobator was still in Laos and that she had visited her daughter twice.
Human rights group Reprieve, which has campaigned on Orobator's behalf, did not immediately return a call seeking comment late Tuesday.
That's Ok with me, I'm not really surprised about this at all, Because they lived in western world, and most of all they 've lived in Prejudge Society, and We don't need their apologize from them. I think it's good that if we don't hear anythings from the White Western-Media,Especially the (F' cking Brittish Media)
I'm a Lao student currently studying in Australia. As i heard from many sources of news in Australia, they said that Lao guarding officers raped her in the jail. But logically, no one believed she was raped by such guarding men since Lao police actually know what is right or wrong when they are in mission. In my sense, i don't think Lao guarding officers felt like dealing with such a black African- British lady like that!
This is what we can say 'DOUBLE STANDARD' from Western Countries. Even laotians who are citizens of Western countries they always have anti Lao government sentiment... IF again this girl was arrested in Singapour and prooved to be guilty, I believe she will be hang 100% as they hanged an australian origin vietnamese.
I've said it before.... Laos made a big mistake on this one.... They should of kill her since last summer of 08.. She got caught and make her disappear on the thin air... Nobody will know about it... even her own mother didn't know where her own daughter where about til the international media got a hold of the story.
c'mon now... those guards at the prison rape her??? give me a break!!! khon lao bor cee dork heeee dum dum hun na.... sum va cee peee hun tee.. la heee men men hun va???? hahahhahahahha
