In the ancient days, Lao lady of any social classses wore the same hairstyle. Except that the common Lao women did not wear gold on their hair like palace ladies, instead they wore flowers like Dok Huk or Dok Sonh (jasmine). It was considered to be "savage" or uncivilized back then if a Lao lady wear their hair down like in these days.
