Oh really khonthakek?? 160 cm is about 5'-3", man I guess i'll never qualify to be in police school since i'm only 150 cm = 4'-11". I'm just a stubby guy.. hahahha short and fat!! i weight about 240 lbs = 109 kg. biggrin

it's hard to find 180 cm to become a policeman in Laos, as far as i know there s a police school (Natoung) east of thakhek, the school almost collape and covered by the Bamboo, the student there have to find their own food such as hunting in the forest, hunting bamboo and so on... after 6 months student can graduate and become the police... but i don't know how tall is required for Nai 100 police...

what is Nai 100 in english? haha

if you lao police in laos give us a chance about 20 year from now we are gonna some chemical food like hamberger m.nodald`s food cane fast food etc... like rich country then our kids will fat and tall and die fast of these food cancer

What's standard for the Western Policeman/women?? I mean how tall ? if they should become a cops!! I 'm a Lao-man nomix purelao and stand 5'5 inch, and I have seen a plenty of American cops shorter than I'm, what are you talking about? Maybe Flying School because they really picky about the Height.

I visited Laos before. I spend a month there going up and down the country. Surpriselingly there weren't that many short Laotians as I thought there would be. Many Laotians were tall. They are about 5'5" and 5'11". Many girls are the same height as well. I think those are a good height for Asians. So, in my conclusion, Laotians are not short. There are lot of tall people is just there our population is smaller.

Is the OP of this topic a Lao person? If he/she is Lao should be ashame of him/herself. How can one tell those polices are short by looking at this photos? There are many fat and shorts American policemen/women too here in the US. This is a dumb **** topic to post by a dumb **** idiot.

For my generation I feel a little bit disappointed because at that time 1960-1970 we did not have fresh milk, when we suppose to so our bone could grow strong...and make us high, but I can assure you, now LAO children are different....now children have good source of nutrition and they are taller than my generation. Let look at 1 example, I am 1.66 metre tall but all my nephews now are from 1.70m to 1.80m as well as my grand children...believe me that's true now. Drinking fresh milk helping bone to grow strong....I guess evryone knew already about it.

you are right son, i am only 5'6''but my sons they are 5'8'' and 5'9'' they only
15 and 17 years old.

it's not only the policemen are too short, we are (asian) short as the whole. if you would like to have tall policemen/women, we will need to do 2 things:
1. importing from western/africa countries.
2. let our women have sex with them and come back home, raise the kids, we have tall policemen/women.

anyways if you want taller people just eat more nutrition that will probably double lao peoples sizes alone.

i am currently reading a book " wealth and poverty of nations " it is avery good read and it also gives me some ideas on how someday i can help laos develope.

anyways nutrition is key in physical features, western and african countries are taller and bigger because of theri diet wchich includes plenty of meat and dairy products whiel asians focus on rice with is very poor quality in everything low carbs no protien no nutrition.

dont get me wrong i love rice but of nutrition wise it sucks!
