-Boun KhaoPhansa, as far as i know it is not national holiday, 1 day off is enough for people to go temple and offer things to monks, because do some beautiful thing for the accestors -Rocket festival is not a holiday as well, 1 day off is ok.. to promote and maintiane lao culture, make it bigger and attract more tourists. -Pimailao, 7 days off is ok for lao people travel and visit the family...7 days is not that long, but Lao new year must adjust to 7 days off. -Awk phansa or boat racing festival, 3 days off , is enought to people to celebrate and go to temple. as far as i know this event is not official holiday for laos, people just take off as they want.

Deun sam awk mai 3 kham or Laotian thankgiving day..
this day is neccessary to take off 1 day, to have basi and thank for our accestor, rice hut, rice field, bufflo and so on..

more than 2 days HOLIDAY is too much ppl. more than 6-8 days holiday/year is not a must. let's learn how to work, then we can think about holidays. if you need more days off, you would combine the holidays with your vacation. the government has to establish the holidays and vacation for the state employees and the private sectors. the norm must be followed by all industrial and services departments. the self employment/farmers they can work or take their time off as they want anyway.
