25th SEA Games theme song unveils

The theme song of the 25th SEA Games, entitled "The spirit of the flame" was finally unveiled in Laos last week.

Famous Lao singer Sam Intharaphitha, was chosen to present this song for the opening of 25th SEA Games. The song "The Spirit of The Flame" has made it into the final 15 songs out of more than 50 entries. The 15 songs will be released as a special SEA Games album. But only 1 song will be chosen to open the historical event for Laos.

The lyric of this song has a mix between Lao and English version. The first part is in Lao, and the second part is in English.

The lyric of this song in an English part is as follow:

I think the above setence should change to "Cheer for everyone". As we are a host we should make everybody feel welcome not just for Laos.

Having listened to the seagame song, I feel that the song reflects only Lao athlets not the whole ASEAN commnunity dispite the fact that Laos is going to host SEA GAme. Where are other countries in the song? I heard only Lao?

there should be good mixuture between Lao and internation intrument.

I think this song is a very good song if it is the national game not SEA game.

Damn, I really wanted desperately to watch the SEAG opening live. But I just enrolled in a master's degree study program and two major exam fall during the week of the opening day. I hope my profesor will accept bribe to let me take the exams on later date but that doesnt work here... ha ha ha!

By the way, the song is good but it seems that the lyrics only refers to Laos. i agree with someone here who commented that this song maybe good for national games but not for SEAG.

The opening song should be something that promotes unity, friendship, camaraderie, sportmanship and respect among and between member nations, not only for Lao.

It should have lyrics that says something like Lao people joining hands and stand united with brothers and sisters from other SEA nations. Remember, though this is a historical event for Laos, but it not only for and about Laos. Its for the whole SEA nations.

"Today Laos will be as one

This sounds bias towards Laos.

This could be retained as an opening song provided there is another song that encompasses the whole of SEA nations and the spirit of the SEAG.

thanks everyone, i think the song`s lyric should cover all the South East Asia`s culture , i mean not only lao.
