โดยส่วนตัว ผมก็ยังอยากเรียกไทยและลาวว่าเป็นบ้านพี่เมืองน้องกันอยู่นะครับ แต่ไม่ได้หมายความว่าไทยเป็นพี่หรือลาวเป็นน้อง หรือใครเป็นน้องใครเป็นพี่ คำว่าพี่น้องมันแค่ให้ความรู้สึกว่าเราเป็นสายเลือดเดียวกัน เราอยู่ร่วมกันมานาน เราพูดภาษาคล้ายกัน เราเติบโตมาจากรากเหง้าเดียวกัน คำ ๆ นี้จึงให้รู้สึกว่ามันพิเศษกว่าประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน ต้องยอมรับตามตรงนะครับว่าคนไทยหลาย ๆ คนก็รู้สึกอย่างนั้น เรารู้สึกดีกับคนลาวเป็นพิเศษกว่าประเทศเพื่อนบ้านอื่น ๆ ไปเที่ยวลาว ก็เหมือนไปเที่ยวบ้านของพี่ของน้องเรา รู้สึกอุ่นใจเหมือนอยู่บ้านตัวเอง คนลาวก็น่ารัก เพราะแค่คำว่าเพื่อนบ้าน ประเทศไหน ๆ ก็เป็นได้ แต่ประเทศที่เป็นบ้านพี่เมืองน้องกันนั้น ไม่มีประเทศใด ๆ ในโลกนี้ที่เป็นอย่างนั้น คนลาวจะอยากเป็นบ้านพี่เมืองน้องกับไทยหรือไม่นั้น ผมก็ไม่รู้ แต่โดยส่วนตัว เรายังคงนับถือคนลาวเป็นพี่เป็นน้องกันอยู่เสมอ เราเรียกว่าเป็นบ้านพี่เมืองน้อง ก็เพราะอยากให้เราระลึกถึงสายสัมพันธ์ของประเทศทั้งสองประเทศของเราที่เติบโตมาจากรากเหง้าเดียวกัน สายเลือดเดียวกัน ซึ่งมากกว่าประเทศเพื่อนบ้านธรรมดา ผมรู้สึกอย่างนั้นจริง ๆ คำว่าพี่น้องสำหรับผมมันเพียงแต่สื่อว่าเรามาจากสายเลือดเดียวกันเท่านั้น ไม่ได้ต้องการให้ใครเป็นพี่เป็นน้อง

there are alway the thai that are ready to disrespect lao,
there are alway the lao that ready to disrespect thai.

it's normal you will see a lot of good words , becuase the news you read is positive one, world heritage thing.

Suvannakomkham was the kingdom and not belong to present Lao or Thai kingdoms ok. But Suvannakomkham was fell to another kingdom which more stronger in military till left only ruin... It's the cycle of the being the kingdom. When its reached to the top then it will goes down.

Human world today as well..once we reach to the top of human being then one day..human will get destroy and no more human spicy left in this world and another spicy will be replace human and study of human ruin same as now we are studying and searching for Dinosaur

I 've never learned or heard about suvanakhomkham in the textbook of Laos, have you guys learned suvanakhomkham during your high school or college. maybe i missed it, but i am quite good at history and geography.

What is suvanakhomkham ?

do not misunderstand me. i'm lao,but I don't understand why many lao people are close minded. Especially if you are living in America or development countries we should open minded and open eyes as well. In every countries,every race white,black, and asian. we all have bad and good people. there are lots of lao people that hate each other. For instance, lao people have color red and blue which stupid reason to hurt each other. Especially the old lao people,they are very close minded.
they never get along to each other.

Why not ? would you want to wait untill 10 million Chinese became Lao citizen first then register with China. History between Lao and Thai are connected or would you like to change to Lao and Chinese or Vietnamese. I don't think that Suvanakhomkham have nothing to do with Vietnam and China.

It doesn't matter . The fact is between Laos and Thailand history are connected even the culture , language and the blood line . We can not dinie that. It costs a lot of money to prevent some more damages and Laos could not affort that.

who kill lao people, who burn lao temple and town, who used lao labor as slave

it's nothing to talk about Vietnam or China in this topic. don't out of issue
we are talking about LAO and Thai.
the village is in Lao Land, Lao should do it alone!
you should learn more about your land mother history, don't just crazy

How long did those war occur? How long have you live in US? Thailand was ruined by Burma 200 years ago. We don't forget but The one who did it pass away so long. Nowaday many Burmese live in Thailand. Many are refugee in camp. Thai people don't resent them about things their ancestor done. Today is better than the past ,please believe. History is what to study but not to grudge.

if thai said sorry to LAO just one time and accepted what they had done
to Laos, and tell the true story in history to their people
and dont look down on lao people, we can forgive you,
but you and your country never accept it and still look down
on us.
we dont care what the Burmar had done to your country,

your country allow burmese labor working in your country just because
is cheap! not because your gov want to help.
dont have to find any reason to explain,even you can learn from the past but you cant delete the past that what your country had done to us, how bad your country was and is.
if you want to change your new look with us, try to tell your gov send all things that stoled from Lao country back and tell the true to your child. just start from it, teach
them dont look down on people without　see their face in a true glass.
its too funny that you are trying to explain that it was the past we should forget,
but never say or accept that yourself had done it and never say sorry and still
give the stole things with you, dont u have a sense of shame?

I understand what happen in the passed and what siamese did to us. However, why do we have to keep talking about the same thing over and over. I believe all lao people know what happen. Are we living in the passed or are we living in the present? History was happen in the passed and we learn from our mistakes, prevent it, and won't let it happen again. As we live in the present,we can see lao people don't get along. So,which mean not all lao people perfect or good. Also,Thai people not all of them are good or perfect. I believe most people that come into samakomlao are educated people and open minded,but there some one is always pessimistic. About the history,each country they always write good things about themselves. Lao history as well, we write good things about ourselves. What I try to say here is whatever happen in the passed that is just the way people in the passed lived their life. who stronger and had more power could take over the weakness one. If we lose,we got to accepted. As nowaday,we are lao people live in develope countries,we see world in different way and make the best out of it.

Who tell you forget the past. I just tell not to grudge 200 yrs history. Is it funny to be friend. Germany and France are friend just only 70 yrs after WW II. Why Thai-Lao Can't? It 's pity to die with hatred, isn't it. Every Thai tourist who came back from Lao have positive attitude with people who they met. When I travel Luang Phrabang 2 years ago when I WAI them when I leaved their guesthouse, They give me amulet. Of course I feel about friendship we share.
