Lao government now welcome Lao Norks to live in Laos !!!

No more excuses from Lao Norks not to come back to live in Laos, as now the government of Laos fully welcome them.

(KPL) Hundreds of thousands of Lao people escaped from Laos in 1975 and most of them would be welcomed back and protected by the prevailing Lao laws and this was said by the officials of the Lao Front for National Construction during the 7th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly, yesterday. The new law on the Lao Front for Construction is made up of 50 articles and the NA members debated on them yesterday.

This new law was crafted to determine the role, duty and responsibility of individuals in the Lao society.

During the National Assembly Session, Mr Tong Yeutho, Deputy President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) gave an interview to journalists. He said that Laos want to encourage Lao people who live in foreign countries to take part in national construction and development.

He also said “On the other hand if they so decide to live permanently in Laos and we can consider granting them the Lao nationality status so that they can enjoy the rights of the Lao people.”

That's what I'm planning on doing.  I'm saving up all my pennies and hopefully I can retire happily in Laos.

I'm glad that Laos government made it possible for Lao Nork to be legally living in Laos.  Awesome news!!!!!

Majority of older people.  Not for me brother!  And probably not for the younger generations.  I definitely will visit often, just not living there.  America is my home now.

Great news, I  hope it is the truth . I would like to retired and die in Laos . I think that there are a lot of Lao people think like me. To retire in the US is very expensive and I saw a lot of elder American are living in the nursery home every day waiting for their children to pick them up and go out to dinner or shopping or do something just living in jail. For me of paying taxes over 40 years of working by the age of 65 years , I should be able to receive at least $2000 per month from SS secutiry plus my union pension with an other $1500 per month, I should be able to live comfortable in Laos. Also I just wonder if Lao hospital take the insurance from the US and medicare . If they do , it will be perfect . I know that the France, Phillippine , Thailand and India do take the insurance from the US and also medicare. There are a lot of the European people retired  and bought their houses in Thailand and retired in Thailand  special in Chiang Mai. There will be good for Lao economy also a lot of retirement dollars will come in Laos. Good news...

You only say that because you are still young. when you reach 60++ you will think otherwise.

Land is expensive now and difficult to buy unless you have lot of money or big business. Most of the land will out of town.

this is wonderful news to hear, lao will help lao no one else every one else like neighboring countries though friendly they will only take but the lao nok and lao nai benefit laos people.

this is great great news this jus encourages me more to go back and do business.
before i know people are afraid of doing business in laos because their scared of the government taking their hard earned money away. but if the government can promise and make law stating that private companies will not be affected by the government lao will become the fastes blooming economy to come.

if everything goes good the lao will definatly out number any immigrants coming into the country their are more lao nok then their is lao nai and with us combined

bammm thats an earthquake waiting to happen. biggrin

when this law will take affect ,and how lao goverment will implement this law i'm afraid it will  be flip flop . like alot of comments above from lao aboard . most of people who live in 3rd world country like to go back mother land and live there when they retire that would be nice . i think Land in around VTE or big city in lao will double up in the next few year save some for me people ok . i'll be back next year

Most of the retiry people recieve only $2000 dollar per month  who have been working and pay taxes for at least 30 years and the nursey home take all of the money in order to take care of the old people and they could get out only when their children to come and pick them up. Well, I will not want to be in the nursey home when I am old  and  also 2000 dollars is not enough to live alone in the US but will be comfortable in Laos .

Loo Nork who would return and live in a corrupt commie country are those who  were already in their late 20s or 30s when they came to the west and are usually lonely, no life with low paying jobs. It would be rare for Lao Nork with decent education and earn a decent living to want to live in a fuccccking communist third world nation. It's lower yourself and that's something we won't do. It's like you expect our younger female generation in the west to marry Lao Nai, that would be 1 a million if it happens. Again this is like lowering ourself to Lao Nai. Lao park pa dek.

well, you don't want to go is your choice , the things have been changed lately  and I hope it is going to been better because the elder communist most of them die and the new generation of communist are much better. When the people have  good lives and good justice soon nobody like to be controlled by onlty one party or one gang who want to stay in power and corrupted forever in government .Soon I hope when the people  know the outside world and knows the taste of freedom , it will change in the peacefully and slowly in time. Just be patients when the people have good life and good living and enjoy the right of be the human been it will change in the civilize way faster without violent and without knowing it that is what the Lao people have been hoping for. For me when I am 65 years old with my retiement  and pension income I could live very comtablely in Laos and Thailand so I love to spend my golden years in nature in peace . Life is great and the world is wonderful for me thank God for that.

You're wrong!! I left laos when I was twelve years old, spent a year in Thailand before settled in America in 1981. Although I am a US citizen, I have always considered myself 100 percent Lao and eventually will return to live and die in my birth place. I retired from US Army and currently working as an ET for US Postal Service, my combine income probably more than many so called "Educated Person" in America today. Wife and I want to go back now but we can't, our baby daughter is only 10 yo but as soon as she finish her college, we will be calling Laos home again.

Thanks, it is great new policy from Lao Government will allow Lao oversea
to go back and live in Laos permanently, but I am sure less than 1% of
Lao oversea like to be living in motherland, because they need good
healthcares/medications for their old-age.

Watches are a beautiful thing. Certainly, they tell us the time - but aren't they so much more than that? replicas watches Through their watches, a person can express so much, and in a way it could be said:replicas watches Show me your watch and I'll tell you who you are.

If there's any guarantee. i predict majority of them will return to live in Laos after their retirement or some of them will return if they have some kind of permanent income.

As you probably know the price of land along the new road of VT 450 year cost around 35 to 45 USD one quare meter, I think it is affordable for most Laonok who are willing to return to laos but you have to hurry, cos' it may jump to 50 and more in the next few year Haha !
the actual price in some district had reached 100 usd one quare meter...

give them back their lao nationality, why not, but most of them would expect double nationality, i guess... and this is something lao autorities don't accept yet. I hope this can change soon.

This is something that should be taken serious consideration. Maybe a risk-benefit analysis will help.... who knows there might be more benefits for the country if Lao in other countries will be allowed dual citizenship.
