Lao government doesn't care about scholarship students in aboard

That is the truth because they don't want the new idea and the new people with brain to take their offices . They are the one who pull Laos back from getting prgress. They are afraid to lose their power. They could not trade and manage the money all they could do is corruped , taking bribes from people and foreign companies that do bosiness in Laos , cutting the tree and destroy the forest , allow the casino , porno stores , drug and so onand depense only on the foreign aid money so no brain earn money because they are educated like the young generation from abraod. They must have every one of their party to be loyal to them just corrupted like them or only their family and relatives who they could trust to be government and have power.

getting into school is hard

getting a scholarship is harder

getting hire after graduation is hardest.

it is who you know not what you know.

it is like that everwhere in USA or LPDR.

just need to network but i imagine it would be much difficult for LPDR'ers to network and jobs for people with degree are hard to come by i bet.

This is absolutely not true. The government requires skilled and knowledgeable people to be recruited in offices. The problem is some students do not want to work for government due to low salary. Most students graduated overseas do not intend to work in provincial or district levels. If you really want to work in rural areas, many governmental organizations welcome you. In urban areas esp in VIentiane Capital, it may not be easy to be recruited due to several factors (some rumors are true).
It is not only in Laos that looking for job in government sector is difficult. it is normal everywhere around the world. That is why many people work for private companies.

Go ahead, go to rural districts in Northern and Southern Laos, I am sure you will be recruited. Do you really want to go there?

Yes , to work under someone who has less educated than they are and must be one of them that means loyal to them and do any thing their way that taking bribea and corrupted otherwise they will not be hired. So they must be like them.

if the government really want to the good brains from aboard, why don't ask the embassy or Ministry of education to contack those students, i am sure that more than 60 % are willing to work with the government without any complain about low salary.

the problem is that, the government officers are full with low education people, some people don't even know how to write correct Lao and know how to fill out the documents.

This is 1975 all over again , that's the way communist is smart people is an obstacle

for them I still remember their faverite word was (Jucka phaat) they are worst than (jucka phaat) look at Lao right now, most of the places looking old and worn down I heard many times Lao gov recieved foriegn aids in the millians or even billians of dollars not only that alot of torist flok to Laos which means the gov should have a good amount of money to improve it's country and provide for the people something is not right here. I hope Lao nai got fed up and demend for change

Common man our PM now was also the scholarship student. and most of the NEW gov officer is atleast master degree. many of them got the JICA schorlar to continue their reseach in Japan and ofcourse they have to go back to take their place . they told me if you wanna work with gov you should atleast get master degree. cos there r so many young that graduate from China , Vietnam , Aus,

but how many post in Gov?

If you have ever heard of new policy of which head of government departments in the years to come must have at least graduate or master's degree study. If you try to look closely into current situation, every government head is trying to obtain higher degree such as PhD from our neigboring countries i.e: Thailand and Vietnam. But to certain extent the degree obtained was given according to merit only, not from true ability or knowledge or passing examination like other graduate students...I think you guys know how much the hardship has to be paid before you earn true and real master or phd degree. Now every government department is having high education personel but not quite sure about the genuine quality of the degree obtained.

I see... now i understand why there are some officials who are very good in talking but does not seem to understand what they are talking about.

Do not upset!! Lao Abroad Educated, you guys got a brain, establish your
own private companies: private Doctors/Clinic, Private Engineer Consulting,
Private school or University, Private farm/agriculture, there are million things
you guys can do without working for Government, later on you can turn
around selling your plan/idea to uneducated government. In the west
Private Business run the country not Government.

I agree with you. look at Cern they are looking for physicist with top pay also and so do Nasa .They are always searching for the best physicists around the world.
