What do you think Laos will give 2 elephants to north Korea ?

we are a million of elephant , it is ok to give a friend only 2 elephants to foster international cooperation between two communist countries .

For sure these two Elephants will be kept in a Zoo somewhere in North Korea, for Korean people to have a look.

I hope they have a sign to indicate these two Elephants are from Laos. Korean people will know and be happy, these BIG gifts are from Laos

I just wonder in North Korea there is no Elephant at all!

Why elephants? Why not giving paintings? Scarfs? Or something else. Elephants have their own families, too, you know. Taking them away from their families and environment is just cruel.

Because Elephants is our Identities, Remember lao motto '' A millions of an Elephants.'' giving away one or two to our friendly nations is not gonna hurt, look at China '' Mee-Panda.'' and Venezuela'' free oil around their regions included some of US cites..

I don't think Laos has so many elephants as its name suggests. I remember early this year, 8-9 elephants were killed in Phou Khao Kuy alone (Buffalo Mountain in Vientiane province). A mountain (I cant recall a name of the place where Nam Turn 2 damn is built) used to be a home of elephants. But since Nam Turn 2 has built there, I wonder if there are many elephants left there. And I don't think the whole country has many elephants left either.

Giving away elephants to other countries is just thoughtless and cruel to animals. Just think about if you have to give away your children to other families just because you have many children in your family. Elephants have their own families too.

Seriously, why don't the gov. give artefacts such as a Lao silver bowl, silk textile, etc. to N.Korea. That way the N. Koreans can admire how beautiful and how great Lao artisans can do.

Lao did this so the North Korean can either EAT the elephants or try to breed more of them. If you didn't know....North Korean are starving to death.

I wonder if North Korean veterinarians and zoo keepers are as good as Australian. Thailand has gave Australia 8 elephants, 5 of them are kept at Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Thong Dee, a female elephant at Taronga Zoo has recently delivered a male calf. The calf is named “Luk Chai” which means “My Son” and becomes a major drawcard at the zoo. Daily visitors soared from 4,500 to 12,000 to see the cute “Luk Chai”. Taronga Zoo takes care of Thai elephants so good that heaters are installed in winter to warm Thai elephants.

Can North Korea do the same good to Lao elephants?
