Let estimate in number . there are over million Laotian over sea and around the world if  one person send $ 20 per month that is $120 per  year per person. Now suppose 500,000 people send money home that is $6,000,000. per year. I believe that would be more than that.

The math is there, but the question is are there trust and solidarity among the Lao Diaspora community. The Lao Diaspora are so divided.

That is no body know but I know that I send money to my family more than $120 per year and some of my friends a lot of more even send money for his parent to buy some land and build house.

The answer is in your sentence, that is why the term diaspora. But from reading the threads here, I can see though there are different political and economic views here but when it comes to general concern for the motherland and laotians, the desire is the same. Everybody just want to see progress and improvement, so that makes laotian united. Never mind those few who have negative remarks. They might be just rolling around. Positive or concerned comments for laos (whether wrongly stated due to limitation in the english language) still outweights the negative ones. So dont read literally, read between the lines... and you will see most guys here only want to see Laos prosper.

Forget the past. Its about time Laotians move forward towards progress. smilesmile

If they use the money just to buy a big japanese pick-up, that will use imported gas, or to buy any kind of non-productive imported stuff, this is nothing good for lao economy.

The money should be INVESTED, IN LAOS, to be productive.

This is a story I learnt from many years ago when I visited family in LAO, there was lao business man investing in manufacturing, he had a small factory to produce high energy lamp, or fluorescent lamp which consumes less power....the factory output thousand and thousand of lamps a day, but he could not have the market for them, so at the end he failed to do a good business. For this story we can see there are always risk in what kind of business you are going to open.....do the research well before could help your business to be successful. Beer and soft drink, and bottle water also doing well doesn't it.

Watches are a beautiful thing. Certainly, they tell us the time - but aren't they so much more than that? replicas watches Through their watches, a person can express so much, and in a way it could be said:replicas watches Show me your watch and I'll tell you who you are.
