Does Laos have raw martial to feed the industries and factories ? Does Laos have good skill labours and  none skill labours to work in the factories ? Are Lao trading laws good or fair for the investors that would make them interested  to come to invest in Laos ? What kind of factories should be built in Laos ? Should Laos become industrial country or agriculture country or both?

First of all, no investors would like to deal with corrupted high rank government official who have to be bribed  and unfair  treated to the investors .So Lao government must strictly enforce the international anti- corruption laws. Then improve the roads, railroads and the airport for cargo and transportation goods. Educated and trained the Laotian for the skill workers and managers . For raw martial and wood enough to feed the factories such as electrical cable wire and furniture factories. For agriculture and farm are very good for Laos such as pigs farm , chicken farm , shrimp farm and cow farm (meat ) . So it depends on the investors markets such as Japan, south Korea and Taiwan and china always import pork and meat from the other countries.
Laos is beautiful country is good for tourism as well. Also silk and Lao fashion and Gift are good products as well.

adjusting the investment law in Laos, especially a law for freetrade between ASEAN and china will start to test on Jan 2010.

other factors which is not work to attract foreign investment is you already mentioned such as skill workmanship and raw materials to supply the factory.

the only project that foreign investor are interested in doing in LAOS, all of you guys already know is that, Laos has national resources such as mining and hydro power plant and CASINO.. because black money has to spend out in some undeveloped country , Laos, cambodia is the choices.

i think at the present, foreign investor are interested in these field.(casino, dam and mining)   if we think about the future, yes.. there will be lots investment in laos except the mining and hydro power plant, because that day all the national resources is destroyed .

foreign investor only interested in mining, hydro, gambling, because those industries easy to bribe. You pay government official and you can start business.

Small factories are much too difficult. Small factory owner doesn't have time to learn who to pay and how much to pay or if the payments will go up. Too many things to think about, better to open a factory where wages are higher but no bribes to pay. Laos needs to get rid of corruption. As soon as you start a business in Laos everyone thinks they need to get some money from the rich foreigner.

Small factory pays many Lao people good wage.

Big hydro pays. . . Bribe for high official, nothing more. How much have you gotten from Phou Bia Mine?

if you want to open the garment factory, firstly you should find  skill garment workmanships who know how to make the garment and traning all the workers to stitch the proper garment.

you should hire people who knows to cut and make paper pattern as the client requirement

where should we get raw material such as fabric , embroidery . printing and accessory in a short time in Laos? some requirement is very high for some clients

are you sure of deliever of the goods as agreement with client? how many washing factory if we wan to wash danim or strong washing? how many factory if we want to color the garment as requirement?

how many worker can stand if they don't have mini-salary , all the salary should be counting pieces by piece. for example: if you can stitch a lot or complete a lot of some part of garment you can earn.?

if we need to have some material such as thread, machine or some accessory of stitching machine ,where we can find in laos? how many people can fix the sewing machine and wan to work?

how many young people can give up every thing and work as worker in factory since the people only 6.5 millions in laos?

if you can't those i have mentioned how to open big garment factory and take many orders to do??

After it came to power in 75, The Lao-communist regime took a so called socialist road-an ownership system totally controlled by the state, with basiclly no private ownership. During the time between 1975-and early 90, more than 95 percent of the economy was owned and controlled by the State, which was labeled as '' Public ownership.''  Sine open the door to the outside world, and slowly reform an economic in early 90, The ownership paradigm has shifted. by 2000-2008, enterprises solely owned by private capital accounted for more than two-thirds of the  economy. There're now other types of ownership as well, such as collective ownership, joined ventures, and mixed ownership, enterprises jointly own by private and collectively owned entities. so, the weight of purely public ownership is now rather small. In fact, the first 20 something years of the communist State, There was too much government intervention. the economy was completely handcuffed, with no way for the Lao-people to bring forth their productivity and creativity. In contrast, the reform during the past 30 something years loosened-up some of this control so that economic development sped up. In particular, Private companies have grown, driven by the market-mechanism, while foreign investments have poured in. so, just keep doing what they're doing right now, Until they catch an Eyes of the West, Ya'll know what i'm saying, right. and at the end, the regime of Leninist will fade away eventually. So this is my thought on our Country direction right now..

That makes sense . So Laos just let the private sector takes over and more private investors come more companies so the government just collect taxes just the United States . The US government doesn't own any business except US post office.

I don't know if Brother is joking or serious about what you said, that ( There's no openess nor Transparency in China) You totally wrong about China has no transparencies. In the past few years I've seen a few high ranking local or State officials were put to death because of Corruption or bribe by a local businessman. if i'm not wrong, a few weeks ago. The Chinese government were order the high-ranking official Executed, I believe, he was a health minister. some of you guys here probably remember earlier this year a lot of chinese kids drank milk mixed with some kindda chemical. same as ecoline batteria mixed with meat in the U.S.A. a while back, ya'll know that this one. so anyway, the chinese health minister got bribed by a local Pharmaceutical to produced a Medicine but the minister didn't keep a close eyes to the Company, so they screw-up big time. that's why his head falled of his neck. ( There's no openess, How come they're successful??) well, when it come to business, yes, they do open their country to West and outside world. if not, There's no way on Earth that their business would have booming so quick, like 8-9 percent growth a year.  Now, come political, they the chinese still a hardline communist. if you join the party, it will control all aspects of your life, including your conscience, subsistence, and private life. when given political authority, The CCP controls the society, government, and the State apparatus. It dictates all mattes.from ones as an important as who should be the chairman of the country or the minister of the defense or what regulations and rules will be made, to as small as where one should live, with whom one can marry, and how many children one can have. the CCP has mustered all imaginable mathods of control.

They need to change real estate law, regulations and its ownerships. Many investors like myself would not go to Laos and buy any land or properties and afraid that the government will take them back. This is one of the main core issue that any government needs to look at in order to stabalize the local economy.

Yes!! totally agree with you, Brother. i 've heard from a few myself. But, a few month ago. the PDR government announced that, '' if anybody invest over $300.000.'' they will grant that person have the right to own a piece of land or even build the house and live there,'' remember that. hopefully, they don't flip-flop about this thing. but people still scare, especially lao-Americans..

lets start with transportations.  we need direct flights like from Japan, Hongkong, Taipei, etc....time is money...if most of these investors need to go thru Thailand first they are wasting times.

That is China but that is never going to happen by arresting the corrupted high rank government officials and police in Laos. Who would dare to do that ? If someone  dare to talk about it , he would live more than a day or in jail and accussed to be Patikan .

Yes!! totally agree with you, Brother. i 've heard from a few myself. But, a few month ago. the PDR government announced that, '' if anybody invest over $300.000.'' they will grant that person have the right to own a piece of land or even build the house and live there,'' remember that. hopefully, they don't flip-flop about this thing. but people still scare, especially lao-Americans..

Is that $300 or $300,000? Either way there should be proof or an agreement among government and its people permanently in place just like Western countries do.

I have the concern about this issue for quite sometimes, even though I have relatives who are among the high rank officials, they're still under their God Father/ Big Brother if you know what I'm talking about?

It seems to me Laos don't really have the owner like how it use to be.

After it came to power in 75, The Lao-communist regime took a so called socialist road-an ownership system totally controlled by the state, with basically no private ownership. In particular, Private companies have grown, driven by the market-mechanism, while foreign investments have poured in. so, just keep doing what they're doing right now, Until they catch an Eyes of the West, Y'All know what i'm saying, right. and at the end, the regime of Leninist will fade away eventually. So this is my thought on our Country direction right now..

SORRY, I MADE A MISTAK, BY QUOTE YOU, BUT,YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT THIS IS MY ANSWER TO THE QUESTION, OK BRO...

That makes sense . So Laos just let the private sector takes over and more private investors come more companies so the government just collect taxes just the United States . The US government doesn't own any business except US post office.

But, please do not think that'' Laos'' is practicing a Capitalist System, ok..

Why you say that , you seem to me that you are also afraid to be accused like brother BLM, Lao kid, the TheTruth  and the other...? What you said that are the truth to make the investors to come and invest in Loas.

Speak-out, would never ever be afraid to speak his mind, That's why his screen name is SpeakOut, Ok. Bro. But , they can disgree with my opinion. I can't control what they think, Right,Broher. also, I'm not only complaining only to our Lao-PDR, also, the old regime too.. you can go back and read all my comments if you don't believe me.

Thank you brother and I believe you.

Watches are a beautiful thing. Certainly, they tell us the time - but aren't they so much more than that? replicas watches Through their watches, a person can express so much, and in a way it could be said:replicas watches Show me your watch and I'll tell you who you are.
